5.0 out of 5 stars What a great burner, July 8, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Sony 24x External CD-RW Drive ( CRX1750U/A2 ) (Personal Computers)
This is my second cd-rw drive, and my other one doesn't even compare to this one. My old burner took 25 minutes to burn a cd at the minimum, but my sony drive takes 5 minutes maximum. It makes cd burning alot easier.
Not only is this drive fast , but it is reliable too. I have burned about 20 cds so far and not one of them have had a single skip or messup of any sort.
It was very easy to install too. I took it out of the box, hooked it up, loaded the software, and I had already begun burning cds about half an hour after receiving the package.
I am extremely pleased with this product.

5.0 out of 5 stars A real bargain quality-wise!, March 25, 2003
This review is from: Sony 24x External CD-RW Drive ( CRX1750U/A2 ) (Personal Computers)
My Mother got me this burner for Christmas, and no sooner did I take it out of the package and install the software did I start burning CD's. It is so easy, even the most inept computer person can do it! The speed and quality is remarkable, as is the price.

The burner software program it comes with is simple, and yet does nearly everything that you would expect it to do. You can create image files of CD's so that you can burn them at a later date, you can copy disk to disk, create data cd's, music cd's, VCD's, virtually anything and everything and it is presented in a way in which someone with no computer experience would easily understand.

I've literally burned over 500 CD's already and rarely do I have a bad burn. Most of the time it is because I used a cheap CDR (most likely the disc was bad) or I had too many things going on at once and my computer was lagging.

IF you're looking for a good quality, easy to use external CDR drive that is great in price, this is your best choice!

1.0 out of 5 stars DO NOT BUY!!!, April 27, 2003

This review is from: Sony 24x External CD-RW Drive ( CRX1750U/A2 ) (Personal Computers)
I bought it in May 2002 and now it starts to give me problem. So I called the service center and I was put off for numerous times. The technician is absolutely lack of knowledge and does not offer any help except keep on asking you to reinstall the system or upgrade compter etc. etc. Also they ask you to use ONLY SONY CDRs which I think is junk. SONY is doing everything to let the warranty expire! Still keep on fighting to get it repaired before my warranty expires.
Also do not buy a SONY HDTV! One trainer from a Statistics Software company told me that Customer Report rated SONY's product so bad that SONY were seeking help from their company to sue CR. Of course SONY faliled because the data, no matter how they manipulate it, suggests SONY is bad. Think twice if you want to buy SONY!!!
