At first, I was wary about getting a large memory stick for my PSP, because I wasn't sure how it would function. Online forums spoke of long transfer speeds, product ceasing to work after a couple of months, and even the PSP itself not being able to handle a memory stick of such large size. Well, I am happy to report that none of those concerns turned out to be reality. I went from a 2gb memory stick to this 16gb one, and the only difference I noticed is that the transfer speed is a little bit slower. And if you're downloading things from the Playstation Network directly, the download time is a nightmare anyway so a little bit longer shouldn't bother you that much. I've had this product for almost a year, and have had no problems with it whatsoever. I've got full games, demos, game saves, music and videos saved and still have about 8gb free. This is the perfect memory stick for you if you don't see yourself ever needing something the size of a 32gb, yet want to have one large enough that storing media never becomes a problem. However, I feel it is important to note that upon formatting the memory stick the PSP automatically utilizes 2gb, so be prepared to live with 14gb. Not a deal-breaker, but you have to wonder why something that doesn't even have saved settings yet would require so much space. A great buy I found online for about $60, considering 2gb run about $20 in store. Avoid buying off brand, as they tend not to last and sometimes don't even fit into the PSP at all.
I purchased this hoping that I could reduce the processing time that my NEX-7 takes to render an HDR photo. Sony's take on it is that it is capable of the 50Mbps but only with compatible devices. Given that I have brand new NEX-7 I assumed this meant that I would have the ability to utilize the speed of this card. I was wrong. The NEX-7 restricts the speed of this card down the the base model Pro-Duo which is equivilent to a SDHC card of about class 4-6.
That being said, I would have been better off saving myself 20 bucks getting a Class 10 SDHC card or better. Thus the 3 stars
Never the less, as a memory card in the camera, it's just as good as any ordinary SDHC card. Therefore, if you have a device that can use this or an SDHC card, check to see how compatible it is before purchasing. (good luck, SONY keeps giving me the run around) If you run in the same problem, I would recommend saving your time and money and get the SDHC card of Class 10 or so
Final note- For those of you who are under the impression that this will reduce the processing time of HDR type photos in your NEX, I have not seen any improvements in speed when compared to a Class 10 SDHC. When Taking an HDR photo at Exp: 1/10, F4.5 and ISO 400. with a bracket HDR of 6.0EV I noticed no difference in speed. Both took about 8 seconds to process (which is still fast from what I'm told, but not fast enough for me). Feel free to message me for more details or other trials. I'll do my best to accommodate you.
