Perfectly Portable,

Excellent and elegant gadget. Works perfectly with my LG Voyager. The sound quality is amazing due too the DSP (digital sound processing) built into the system (which I can't seem to find any other brand that has that). It's actually so clear that I can tell which MP3s i use are of a low quality. You can control the volume with either the headset or your phone (depending on what phone you have). The max volume of the headset is much louder then the max volume if you just use a regular extension out of the phone. The headset uses bluetooth 2.0 which my Voyager only has 1.2 and it works fine. Supposedly if you have a bluetooth 2.0 capable device the sound is even better, which is surprising because the quality seems almost perfect already. The microphone is clear, if not too clear and can pick up back ground noise such as if your air is fully on in your car. The Sony website says that the headset will even automatically adjust the volume of the headset if you walk into loud environment so you can hear it better, and will do so in less than a second. I haven't noticed that happening, but i also haven't ever had a problem hearing the volume even in a loud area, so maybe it is working, and working seamlessly like they describe. Finally you can't beat being able to use whatever head phone you want for the occasion. You can even hook it up to your stereo if you have the right set of connectors. Overall great product, worth every penny.

Not true. When paired with an HTC Tytn II, the volume is controlled by holding down the 'play/pause' button on the side. Granted, this unit isn't very full featured, but the build & sound quality is very nice. The only major difference that I've noticed is that the volume isn't quite as loud as when the head phones are directly plugged into the device. As far as I know, this is the only branded stereo Bluetooth device that allows you to plug ANY 3.5mm headphones into it making it infinitely more useful when you've destroyed your headphones for day to day usage.

It's a toss up,

I like this product bc it was the only bt product I could find that I could plug my own head phones into. This was good bc I could use it with my home stereo my car stereo and my personal head phones. What I hate about it was that I can't get the battery to last more then 4 hours. Even the manual addresses that you'll need to use the product several times to get full battery life. Well I've fully charged it and used it till it completely dies about 5 or 6 times now and the battery has remained at working for only 4 hours. Only functions on product are start/stop, phone, volume. I had expected this but it would be nice it they came out with the same product with a better battery and maybe some more buttons on it like skip song or the name of the current song.

Poor battery life--4 hours,

Battery life is only 4 hours, in a day when Sony's mp3 players get 33 hours and an ipod can play for almost as long. If you do buy this product, you can double the headphone output if you use skull candy's ear buds. The operability/human factors of the control unit leave a little to be desired--pressing two buttons to get the unit to pair/synch with a bluetooth transmitter. Why not just one 'pairing' button instead of pressing a small button at the same time pressing the >/Stop button. Battery life is the deal breaker. I bought this as a first try in the bluetooth world along with the Sony Bluetooth transmitter---lessons learned.

This product says A2DP, but when I connect to Laptop from Cellphone, I had to do the pairing everytime again and again, similarly changing from Cellphone to Laptop. My understanding was that, A2DP feature is supposedly let you connect many devices (at least 2) without going through the pairing...
And No Volume Button, and Volume is not quiet high... I wish the volume level is little more higher... Otherthan that, its very good. I would give B- . 3.5 out of 5.

I own a BlackBerry Storm and decided to buy some Bluetooh headphones since the phone is compatible. I shopped around and decided on this product because all Sony products I've had in the past were of high quality and this was a reasonable price. I could not be more happy with my decision. The audio quality is superb and the range seems pretty good to me (I don't have much to compare it too though). One of the reasons I chose this product over other is the fact that you can change the earbuds that you use, but I must say the ones that are supplied are very comfortable and provide good sound - the only time I don't use them is if I decide to plug my stereo speakers into the DS220. I believe this product deserves 5 stars, and my only real criticism is that the batter life could be a bit better, but it lasts me a solid 2+ days of commuting which is fine.

I wanted a new headset that I can use while riding my bike to work. figured since I have a sony phone I should get a sony headset. the main function I use on the bike is the voice commands. that is the only function I can not get to work with my phone. my cheap Scala works great with voice but I cant wear with the helmet. The stereo sony headset sounds great with the MP3 player my phone has however.

Not compatible with BlackJack II and MS Voice Command,

This device has good sound and great reception, but it did not work with my set up. I have a BlackJack II running Microsoft Voice Command, and the DS220 would drop the Bluetooth connection whenever Voice Command notified me of an event. Starting a Voice Command session from the DS220 would also cause the unit to disconnect after the command finished. The incompatiblity may be due to both the software running on the BlackJack II and the unit itself.
If I am not using MS Voice Command then the DS220 would work as expected on my BlackJack II. It functions great as a stereo headset when it comes to sound and reception, but the volume control is hard to use and the tiny display is basically useless. Im my opinion, it needs a dedicated volume control, the ability to play/pause, and previous/next track controls in order for it to be competative with other offerings. I returned the DS220 and purchased a Sonorix C3 instead. The Sonorix C3 worked splendidly with my BlackJack II and MS Voice Command, and has all the features to make it a much more capable device.

Nice design (easy to swap out headsets), very small and light weight. Hands free functions work well. A bit disappointed in the lack of volume control from the unit. The unit doesn't play loud enough for some environments (car). But it works well in most situations (office, home). Be prepared to replace the included headset.

Like most products the Sony HBH-DS200 has it's limitations. Special thanks for the other reviewer who highlighted the volume control function (hold down the play/pause button). Other than that the audio quality is spot on. I don't notice any degradation. I do notice a slight latency problem when watching video but it's not too bad. I'm using mine with the Sony Bluetooth Wireless iPod adapter on my iPhone. Being as the iPhone doesn't support bluetooth playback in iPod mode. When using the HBH-DS200 with the phone itself it works pretty well. I do end up having to unpair and pair the headset to go from the ipod adapter to the phone. This gets a little tedious. I do like the fact that you can use whatever headphones you want. I have some nice noisecanceling ear buds that work really well with the bluetooth headset. All in all it does what it says in a nice compact unit. You don't even notice it when you're wearing it.
