I've enjoyed my camera. It's very easy to use. What I love about it was the accessory kit that came with it with the exception of the mini tri-pod. It broke as soon as we took it out of the box. The carrying case is great and can hold the accessories that come with it. It was nice to not have to go out and buy an extra battery and figure out what DVDs to buy for it. The 8GB memory stick was a nice bonus as well as the battery charger that plugs directly into the wall outlet. My sister-in-law got the same camera for Christmas, but without the kit. Her carrying case was a lot smaller and she was trying to use it but didn't have the right DVDs or the memory stick or extra battery. I was so glad I did.

This package deal was excellent and I'm glad I purchsed it as a bundle. It was easy to use and easy to learn. The disc was very helpful and informative.

The battery last about an hour brand new and fully charged. It wasn't constant either hence the 3 stars on the battery life. We haven't dropped it so gave it a four on durability with regular use. The dvd that comes with only records 30 minutes, but you can purchase ones that last longer. It works well for us though we do wish the battery would last a little longer at times for our 3 kids' concerts and holidays. We mainly bought it because of the price, extras, and that it used dvd's instead of tapes. Overall we are happy enough with it.

I not sure about this camera When I went to program the date and time in it was broken so I had to send it in to be fix Im still waiting to get it back hope fully it will work this time .Rick

I have only played with it but seems nice and easy to use and understand. IS to use when new granddaughter arrives and after that. I really like that this comes with an extra battery. That is a very big plus for me

I find it is getting harder to try and stay-up with new technology. Unlike my previous Sony 403 (which I loved) that easily stored video and pictures on the mini DVD, this 650 camera only stores video on the DVD but not my pictures. This 650 camera requires a memory stick be added to hold pictures. As a result, I had to further purchase a USP 2.0 Flash memory reader to be able to download my pictures individually on my older PC and/or take my pictures to another facility to print. Otherwise, the mechanics of this camera is exactly like my 403 and I can also use all the cords and attachments from the 403 with this 650.

The service delivery of this item was quick and again very satisfying. I have not had any problems with the many purchases I have made online through Amazon yet (and I hope it stays that way).

I looked at many camcorders and it got to be a bit overwhelming so I reduced my criteria to a minimum. I was looking for: mini-dvd and flash card recording ability. Image stabilization, a viewfinder(along with a flip out screen) which is easier to for me to use when really zoomed way out. The DCR-DVD650 covers those basics very well. I really like the IS (image stabilization). It seems to get more sensitive the higher the lens magnification, giving nice stable video even at long ranges. I was pleasantly surprised how well it worked in a camcorder of this price range. A couple of misses: When recording mini-dvd's, you must first "finalize" them in-camera before they can be viewed in a regular DVD player. Also this camcorder is not compatible with the Sony external dvd burners so video could be recorded straight to a full size dvd with out the need for a PC. ....My camcorder needs are covered quite nicely however.
