Perfect for capturing your special occasions, these tapes feature Enhanced Ultra Fine Cosmicilite Metal Particles, and maintain high RF output even after 200 repeated playbacks. This tape can be used for Hi8 or Digital8 recording. For Hi8 recording, you get 120 minutes of recording time in SP mode, or 240 minutes in LP mode. For Digital8 recording, you get 60 minutes of recording time in SP mode, or 90 minutes in LP mode.

I continue to be impressed with the quality of Sony products, especially their Digital8/Hi-8 tapes when used with their Sony cameras. It was filmed with a Sony, so why not use Sony tapes?!!? In my 10 years of filming athletic sporting events, I continue to never have problems with my Sony equipment and media. I film as much as 30 hours of footage each week; and then use the same media and camera to record/edit onto DVD. The video quality has always been great!

The Sony Hi8 blank tape works very well. Great video quality. I'm happy that this is still available because my video recorder still works well and it's easy to convert to DVD.

This is a Hi8 tape. If you have a camera that uses Hi8 then you know what you're getting in to here. If you're new to the whole thing then: welcome, it's a really grainy and wonderful world of tape.
