Product Description

The Sony HDR-FX7 is a lightweight camcorder capable of delivering 1080i video via MiniDV tapes using the HDV format. This camera bears some resemblance to the Sony HDR-FX1 in both form and function, but boasts a few changes sure to entice consumers, enthusiasts and professionals alike.

The camera comes equipped with three CMOS sensors. These sensors are arranged in the same manner as the more prevalent 3CCD cameras, one for each color channel. Sony's CMOS ClearVID technology helps increase resolution and image clarity while keeping the camera compact enough to take almost anywhere.

The 20x lens fitted to the FX7 can be very useful when subjects are further away, such as when shooting live events and sports. Weighing in at less than 4 lbs! Not only will users be able to take this feature-rich camera almost anywhere, the reduced arm strain enables longer shoots.

A great camera for the price. This camera does great in well lit conditions with great clarity and minimal to no bleeding. Although I don't recommend using a built in microphone as a primary source of audio, I was impressed with audio sound from the built in microphone on the FX7. I consistently position this camera 20 plus feet away from the subject in a crowed room and if I chose to use the sound from the built in microphone it could still be used with minimal computer enhancement. Perfect second or third camera and for those who are simply looking to enhance the quality of their projects without spending tons of money. I am looking forward to using this camera on upcoming film project. I am glad I purchased this camera. Also a useful kit as well. I have not used the kit much because I have most of the components in use so I will save the kit to be used later as a reserve.
