I have 3 mics at my hand. Behringer XM8500, this one, and radioshack 33-3038.
I use these mics for my karaoke system. This sony hyper-cariod mic's sound quality is better than radioshack's and about the same as XM8500 except XM8500 sounds better with higher and lower pitches. Overall with the price of this mic I give 5 for the sound quality. However the cable that comes with this mic is a piece of crap. It broke the second time I used it. So be aware of just spending 30 bucks for this mic and need to spend another 20 for a good cable, Horizon HZ Series Cable, which I use for XM 8500.

I substituted this microphone for an omni-directional microphone in a small church public address system to reduce problems with feedback. There was a large improvement, enabling the speakers to operate at a higher level without feedback.

It is well built.
But it couldn't give out much sound. I bought Nady Center Stage Microphone at the same time. Nady is much cheaper, but gives out much louder sound. |
