Customer Reviews

This radio is just what I was looking for.

I'm a Sony fan for one reason....they get lots of stations others don't.

The radio does not seem to hold onto signals in my area.

This radio is just what I was looking for. The sound is great for its size and the big selling point was that it took "D" size
batteries. I looked at other radios that required "AA" batteries and from past experiences the "AA" would only last a week or two
before it was time to replace them. This is great radio for the price.

As stated by title, this little Sony works Fine, Styled more like a 70's type of analog radio, the strong part of this
radio is the speaker. It does produce good sound from the 3 inch speaker. I live where Am reception is almost nil
as there is only one local station. It does get AM 550, a station about 60 miles away that is a bit noisy but very listenable. A few other small AM stations between 26-45 miles are very weak. However it seems night time reception
is good, and compared to my CC Radio EP, and RCA Super Radio, it will get just about anything they do,such as WLW 700,
WLS 890 650 WSM ect. Overall i would rate Fair. As for FM there a 9-10 local FM stations around the area, and it will get them all. There is a problem from time to time with stronger stations over bleeding another, and while tuning is sometimes difficult it seems good. Overall i would rate FM as Very Good. To me, this is a good radio, but i would not pay more than $20 for it. This one was $11.95, and $10.00 shipping, This would probably run off the shelf if they were available at a hardware store, Dept store for say $18-20 That being said i just did order another today from Amazon for
$21.95 + free shipping. Why not i said. So looking for a good emergency radio. take to the beach or cabin radio, this
would fill the bill in my opinion. Far from perfect, but what is these days i would have made a 3.5 star rating if available. Again.....looks nice, sounds nice, so i would indeed recommend this radio, but if looking for a better Sony
try the Sony ICF-38 which i also have. Search for reviews on this too.....why not get both?? Review update. 6/21 I reported that although FM reception is good. i had problems with a powerful local station right here in town. The signal from 101.9 overbled in to 95.

I think I would like the radio but it does not have an electrical cord to power it. I mistakenly saw a video link that showed them plugging it into a wall but it does not come with one.

Basic design but excellent sensitivity, small size and uses just two d batteries. Good sound for a mid size radio speaker. Great deal for a small price.

Like many other Dodger fans, I was disappointed that I wouldn't be able to watch the games this year, as I am not a Time Warner subscriber. So I decided to follow my team like I did when I was a little girl, long ago. Summers always meant sitting on an outdoor swing after dinner and listening to Vin Scully. Now I can go back to that magical place with my new Sony radio. After reading reviews on it, I decided to give it a shot. And happily, it's everything I wanted it to be.

I bought this to have on hand in the event of a weather emergency and power failure. Recently moved to FL and that chance is always possible during a hurricane. Product met all expectations, good value for the price.

Works great for my purposes, I listen to it in a loud machine, and I can hear it well with the volume at half or a little more. Got to adjust the tuning knob every once in a while. It's small and can be carried in a backpack, and it only needs 2 D cells, sweet. Batteries have lasted a while so far, using FM stations only.
