After 2 years with a GE alarm clock that required a doctorate to program I just ordered this one. I love all things Sony. The numbers are large and just the right brightness for light sleepers. The switchs, lights, and knobs all make sense. For the price, its a great alarm clock. For the reasons below I must return it, but for the average user it should be fine.
The provisos are as follows: First, the small one. As an employee who's schedule varies, I find the alarm set features annoying. You cannot go back in time, but rather have to scroll forward around the horn in order to change the time from 7:00 to 6:45. For someone who gets up at the same time everyday, this should not be a problem. The second, and very large problem for myself is the volume of the alarm. It is loud, VERY loud. Even the soft setting is enough to startle me out of sleep and I am a very heavy sleeper. This I could get used to. However, my wife is a lighter sleeper and my 2 month old daughter (who sleeps in the room with us) is a very light sleeper. I now awake to a loud alarm clock and a screaming baby. For the average user, this will not be a problem, but if you dislike loud alarms, skip this one.

Because this thing still does not keep the right time if the power is off anywhere from 45 minutes or longer. What the point of putting a battery in there if the clock still doesn't keep the right time?! I just can't believe this clock still does this. Hadn't Sony corrected this problem since the last model before this? The ICF-C111 model had the same problem of not keeping the right time if the power is off for too long.

This is a great clock radio. It has really great reception on both the AM and FM dials. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the radio reception.
It has a sleep timer that will automatically shut the radio off after one hour. You only have to press the large round "sleep" button on top of the radio and fall asleep to your favorite radio station. Turn the radio off first and then press the sleep button to set the sleep timer. The time is easy to read from acroos the room without getting out of bed or reaching for your glasses. The only reason I don't give this radio 5 stars is because it only has one speaker.

Excellent Easy-To-Use Clock Radio,

I had this clock radio (in white) for close to 8 years and I was so happy with it that when the snooze button finally went I automatically went out and purchased the same model. You won't find an easier to use clock radio anywhere. The compact size is excellent for placing on a bed side table. The snooze button is large and easy to find in the morning when you just want 10 more minutes of sleep! I highly recommend this for anyone looking for a high quality clock radio without a lot of bells and whistles. The only negative thing I can think of is actually a positive - the alarm is one of the most annoying sounds I have ever heard so it wakes me right up in the morning. I just want to lean over and turn it off!

The numbers are way to bright, and the alarm "BUZZER" does not have a VOlUme ConTroL. Otherwise, very solid built, nice design, but it is hard to memorize where the differnt function dials and buttons are.
WAY easy to find the snooze bar tho' (v:

I purchased this clock for my sons room. It has everything he needs-the time and an alarm/radio. The numbers are nice and big, but not so bright that it keeps you up at night.

$50 is overpriced,

I was given the Sony ICF-112 clock radio. I thought the BEEP-BEEP alarm was too quiet to wake me. I'm donating it since setting the time is such a hastle. I went online to get a MSRP price for it... $50.00! Please! It has one speaker, only one alarm setting, no volume control on the buzzer and is not all that compact! Outside of Amazon, I found this alarm for $15.00 - I am still trying to figure why anyone would be happy with this alarm clock for $49.95.
