4.0 out of 5 stars Best Shower Radio
Pros: Reception, Features, all digital, looks, build like a tank.
Cons: Price.

I picked this up to replace a piece of junk Curtis shower radio I bought my wife from Best Buy. She was so dissapointed in the Curtis because no stations would come in on its analog tuner.

1.0 out of 5 stars Terrific...until it stopped working after 7 months.
I'm so glad I waited to write this review. Had I written it prior to last week, I would have said that this is a terrific product and well worth the money. Then the radio inexplicably stopped working. I initially thought the batteries had died, which is reasonable after 7 months of daily use. However, when I replaced the batteries yesterday with brand new Duracells, the...

4.0 out of 5 stars Best Shower Radio, June 13, 2003

This review is from: Sony ICF-CD73V Shower CD Player/Clock Radio (White) (Electronics)
Pros: Reception, Features, all digital, looks, build like a tank.
Cons: Price.

I picked this up to replace a piece of junk Curtis shower radio I bought my wife from Best Buy. She was so dissapointed in the Curtis because no stations would come in on its analog tuner.
The Sony was everything the cheaper Curtis wasn't. It is fully digital including the tuner. It has an external antenna and the reception is great. It sounds great for a littler radio with a even a bit of bass. The auto off feature will let you turn this thing on first thing in the morning and not worry about draining the batteries by leaving it on all day. Aditionally, it comes with a rope strap that will let you hang it from about anything. It is a bit on the heavy side because it is built solid as a rock.
The final word is I am super pleased with this little radio. My only gripe is the price: ... ouch. But if you believe that you get what you pay for...

5.0 out of 5 stars Just perfect!, July 15, 2004

After researching, looking at, and buying (then returning) several compact CD/Radio combos (I wanted it to go from kitchen to bathroom, but didn't have room for a boombox) I can finally rest. The Sony Liv Shower Radio is small, easily carried around with its attached handle, and has great sound--no distortion as volume is increased, and no background fuzziness. The one quibble, which I only noticed in the store as I compared it to the matching new Sony Dream Machine CD player, is that the Dream Machine gets much louder and still maintains the integrity of sound--but you have to plug it in, so you aren't going to be carrying it anywhere. That being said, mine is in the kitchen right now on a low-to-middle volume setting, and I can hear it out here in the living room--so it's loud enough, for sure. Love it!

4.0 out of 5 stars Works great except for one (annoying) quirk, December 22, 2005
By
This review is from: Sony ICF-CD73V Shower CD Player/Clock Radio (White) (Electronics)
I loved this shower CD player/clock radio. It worked perfectly for the first 4 months I had it. It even got good radio reception in my shower and had highly respectable sound quality for a shower CD player/clock radio.

And then --> now, if the top of it gets a little wet (as it usually does, being in a shower), it won't turn off. So, I just turn down the volume and it turns off by itself in 30 minutes or more. Unfortunately, this "quirk" runs down the batteries pretty quickly.

I am not sure if this quirk has happened to other people, but it certainly has happened to me.

5.0 out of 5 stars After a year of every day use, still works great!, October 5, 2006

I bought this a year ago and use it every day. It's been dropped numerous times (we use a strong suction cup hook instead of hanging it over the shower head-if you do this, restick the suction cup every few weeks) and it hasn't broken at all and it sounds just like new. The sound is great-loud, you can listen to CDs, radio (great reception) and TV, and program your stations for both TV and radio. Regular batteries last a long time-at least 4 months. I definitely recommend this one over a cheaper one we bought where the CD player worked maybe a week and the radio reception and control and volume/clarity were poor.

5.0 out of 5 stars Better than expected, October 13, 2004
This review is from: Sony ICF-CD73V Shower CD Player/Clock Radio (White) (Electronics)
Like somebody else said, this was the only shower radio with good reviews. The sound is great, better than I expected it to be. I also like it because you can carry it around from room to room. I'm glad I decided to buy it.

5.0 out of 5 stars GREAT product!, June 8, 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: Sony ICF-CD73V Shower CD Player/Clock Radio (White) (Electronics)
After reading many reviews on many different shower radios, this was the only shower/radio/cd player I've found with good reviews, so I decided to buy it. I love it! It's nice being able to listen to the news in the morning in the shower, and the sound quality is great, totally clear. The only cons Ive found is the price, but it IS worth it, and the volume doesnt go up as high as Id like. Other than that, it's the best Ive found.

4.0 out of 5 stars so good it disappeared!, November 9, 2005
This review is from: Sony ICF-CD73V Shower CD Player/Clock Radio (White) (Electronics)
My daughter enjoyed our radio so much she started borrowing it when she showered in her room. She would return it...until recently, it is now hers. We are ordering another...weather band one...we didn't use the cd part for her to give her Dad for Christmas. WE have had it for over a year and love it...the wire antenna is kinda tricky but once you get it in place it is great. Dancing in the shower can be dangerous :)

5.0 out of 5 stars I love it!, June 22, 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: Sony ICF-CD73V Shower CD Player/Clock Radio (White) (Electronics)
The Sony Liv Shower Cd Player/clock radio has far exceeded my expectations. I live in a rural area, and with other radios, I have always had trouble bringing in stations clearly. The Sony Liv has clear, crisp sound, excellent fine tuning, and the CD Player and clock are an added bonus! It's an excellent package.

I highly recommend this product and would not hesitate to purchase another.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great shower/cd radio, December 2, 2005
This review is from: Sony ICF-CD73V Shower CD Player/Clock Radio (White) (Electronics)
Received this shower cd/radio yesterday. Easy directions to set the time and the stations. Great sound quality and simple buttons to use. Surprised at the quality of the radio/cd player compared to other models. Great quality and very sturdy. Wish I would have purchased one sooner.

As one would expect from Sony, this is a quality product. It gets better reception, sounds better, is engineered better and easier to use than similar products. Very user friendly. No complaints.
