Handset and ringer controls let you adjust volume levels to your liking, while a visual voicemail message indicator lets you know when you have new messages (with voice mail service activated). Selectable tone and pulse dialing modes are available via a switch on the phone, and the flash button allows you access to call waiting (requires a subscription to a fee-based service).
The ITID20 is easy to set up and can also be wall-mounted with the supplied wall bracket for added convenience. A redial button lets you quickly call the last outgoing number, while a mute button allows you to hear the other party but mute your end of the conversation. The phone weighs just 18 ounces and has a 3-by-9.5-inch footprint. The ITID20 is also hearing aid compatible and comes with a one-year limited warranty.

A quality kitchen wall phone,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Sony IT-ID20 Corded Phone with Caller ID (Electronics)
I bought this unit to replace our old kitchen wall phone. I wanted a quality phone with illuminated caller ID. Unfortunately, most wall phones today are very low priced models with fixed cords, non-illuminated caller ID windows, and badly placed buttons that lead to accidental hang-ups. Unlike those examples, this phone is a typical Sony quality product. It has a nice, rich look to it, a quality feel and heft, and functions well. The caller ID window is illuminated, however, it is a bit small and difficult to see unless standing very near to the phone. The coiled cord has jacks at both ends so it can be replaced with a longer version. That's a good thing, because the supplied cord is pretty short -- perhaps 2 feet long in its unstretched state. The phone has an "on hook" dial feature that is useful to me. The buttons are small, but adequate to ensure accurate number entry. It is comfortable to use and has good sound quality. The handset hangs securely on the base. It is a nice product and much superior to the junk models sold by others for $10-$15. I trust the Sony name and have found that Sony products are well engineered, quality products that last longer than the products offered by the competition, thereby justifying their higher prices. I have every reason to believe that this phone will not disappoint.

Great Phone,

Call me old fashioned (I'm 34) but I believe in having a sturdy corded phone in the kitchen. After being disappointed in what I found in stores, I looked on Amazon. This Sony has everything I was looking for: wall mount, light up caller ID, excellent sound quality. It also features a speaker phone (dial on hook), memory dial, and easy to use. I am very pleased with this phone. I did switch the cord for a longer one, so I have a larger range, but besides that everything is great!

Sony IT- ID20 Corded Phone with Caller ID,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Sony IT-ID20 Corded Phone with Caller ID (Electronics)
This corded phone seems to fit the bill for me. It does what it what advertised to do. Except for the very light base or cradle, it is working out very nicely. As it was more costly than most of the corded phones listed, it is more substantial and has a few more features than the cheaper phones. I like having a phone that is connected when the power goes out, but since it is the only phone upstairs, having caller ID is important to me, otherwise I have to wait for the phone downstairs to identify the caller. We don't answer unless we know the caller, as we get many unsolicited calls.
This phone has volume controls for the ringer and the voice of the caller. You can dial on the cradle and in your hand. The caller ID lights and if you get close enough you can see the name. Perhaps everyone doesn't need to get close to read it, but I do. The ring is pleasant, not harsh and alarming. We are enjoying it.
