Product Description

From the Manufacturer

Sony's Xplod receiver not only gives you the latest high-tech features, but it performs a full disappearing act as well! The Active Black Panel (ABP) on the front of the CDX-M620 turns completely black and featureless when you turn off the power – it looks just like you removed the face! But when you turn the power on, this deck comes to life with a huge backlit, multicolor display. Hit the open key, and the panel motorizes down to reveal another display, plus a full set of controls. For added security, you can detach the face of the CDX-M620 and take it with you. The CDX-M620 features three sets preamp outputs for total upgrade flexibility. Sony’s new Dynamic Soundstage Organizer (DSO) helps widen the soundstage and give awesome stereo presentation for even door mounted speakers. Sony’s SSIR-EXA tuner offers exceptional sensitivity of all of your favorite radio stations (you can also name those stations!) This unit also features Custom File, which gives you the ability to name CDs and display the titles as text on the multilanguage dot matrix display. Other features include a wireless remote and telephone mute input.

Product Description

ThereM-^Rs no mistaking Sony distinction when it comes to in-dash CD receivers. This headunit is part of their Xplod series, which continues the tradition with features like an Active Black Panel or a stealth-styled detachable face, 52 watts x 4 of power, and 3 sets of pre-amp outputs. And for those who can never have enough variety in their sound, it has EQ7 with 7 equalizer presets and the ability to control an additional CD/MD changer, or a TV tuner.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good looking - better than ELCHAMELEON, December 28, 2004
This review is from: Sony In-Dash CD Player (CDX-M620) (Electronics)
The guy at my local audio store (we're friends) recommends these over JVC ELCHAMELEONS because the black panel is removable. ALWAYS remove it when parked. Thieves aren't dumb and figured out that the black panels where a stereo should be is actually the stereo. I have freinds who bought JVCs when they first came out, but they don't have removable faceplates and were all stolen within a year (3 friends=3 stereos). The sony looks just as cool when off, but when on you have to drop down the front panel to access the controls whereas on the JVC they pop out of the front "Active Black Panel" (Sony's name for it). You can close up the controls on either of these when the stereo is on, but sometimes the JVC will shut itself off. Both of these are awesome sounding stereos, but if you want it to last, buy the sony. Car stereos are my thing, and this is a primo head unit.

4.0 out of 5 stars sony cdx-m620 review, February 13, 2011
This review is from: Sony In-Dash CD Player (CDX-M620) (Electronics)
first the good, sound quality is top noch, controls are easy to use, abp feature makes it practaly invisible to a thief, fair price, THIS THING WILL PICK UP MORE RADIO STATIONS THAN ANY OTHER RADIO I'VE EVER HEARD OF. the bad, my cd's skip when on rough roads but who uses cd's anymore might as well use 8tracks, needs an i-pod input i had to get a RF transmitter for my i-pod but thats ok because this radio will pick up the i-pod transmitter from over a block away.
