5.0 out of 5 stars The BRAVIA 'sweet spot'., December 23, 2008
This review is from: Sony KDL46W4150 46 inch Bravia Full HD 1080p LCD HDTV (Personal Computers)
I picked this TV because it has great features and is reasonably priced. It's near the mid-point of the BRAVIA line, and has many of the important features of the XBR series TV's, but at a more reasonable price. The 120mhz Motion Flow technology was a big selling point.

This unit is identical to the Bravia W4100 series, except the lower portion is BLACK instead of silver.

The full specifications of this model are available on the Sony Style website under 'business' sales, and their LCD TV listings.

I bought it from J&R as they are one of the few retailers who carry this model... HIGHLY recommend it. And totally worth the price!

Absolutly beautiful TV. 1080p and 120 Hz is an awsome combination. Highly recommend this TV. The extra cost for this is truly worth it.

1.0 out of 5 stars Great for two years and then a problem, November 8, 2010
This review is from: Sony KDL46W4150 46 inch Bravia Full HD 1080p LCD HDTV (Personal Computers)
As I write this my Sony TV is closing in on birthday #2 and it has developed a problem. I have images that are now showing up twice on the screen. What is strange is that this happens for about 15 to 20 minutes and then it corrects itself. Up until now the only issue I've had with this tv is when a movie is very dark. This tv does not show black real well, it seems to break up, but for 95% of viewing this is really not a major problem. So all in all I do think it was a good buy, but now here I am facing a major problem and so what will happen? I might have paid $1600 or so for a tv that only lasted two years. Ouch. My guess is this is unusual, but I am the unlucky one I guess. I have talked to a local repair guy who tells me to contact Sony first. I am crossing my fingers.

Here now is my follow up experience:

Per repair tech tv needs a new panel and it will be 1800 to fix so he suggested I see if Sony will help in any way.

Calling customer support, I noted these folks did not speak English real well. Not a problem but just noted. The first guy I talked to was very nice but in the end told me that he was sorry that my tv was out of warranty and that my warranty was only 12 months. So I pointed out to him that on Sony's website the tv listed an 18 month warranty. "So sorry" he said and he said he had to check something. He returned and told me that I could buy an extended warranty for my tv. I was very surprised. I said "on a tv that needs a repair?" "Oh yes" was his response and he gave me a phone number.

I called the number and got someone obviously who it appeared spoke English as her first language. I told her I wanted a warranty and she said the tv had to be less than 12 months. I told her what the tech told me and she said he was wrong. I said "he lied to me?" "Oh, no" was her response he was just mistaken. So what am I to believe. She told me that she could not help me even after I explained the circumstances. Now she said we do have a replacement program where you can get a tv upgraded and she said she would connect me. Opps back to the same old support system. I did talk to someone who checked and said there is not replacement program for my tv. Oh but he said there might be a repair program for a cheaper repair. He checked and once again no help there on my model. Okay and again this guy did not do so well with his English. I only mention this because I notice the non native speakers are in support and the native speakers are in sales. I guess when its a sale they want to make things easier than when its for service. Surprise!

Well, so here I am out of luck it appears and getting a major run around. I must say this is a big disappointment.
