although, many of my friends are big in the electronic industry, I have resisted being "taken in." I was the same with cable TV... now many of my favorite shows are on cable-only networks. Feeling I was missing a major resource, I finally accepted a WebTV from a friend. I am a big fan of the TV remote (am I alone?)... and love the wireless keyboard- though it tends to skip letters when I type too fast. Still, its like a super remote, and its been a very painless way for me to become familiar with the internet. I am on this site to see about purchasing one for my mother for Xmas- even more stubborn than me. Cross your fingers.

I ordered this keyboard as a gift to my mother, but due to shipping problems, I needed to track the order down with Web TV the provider for Amazon. Not only did they answer me within minutes, they immediately sent out a replacement until they could resend the original order. The two guys who helped me were Matt and Dave in Customer service. They were fast and polite. Within a couple of days my mother received the temp keyboard, with a beautiful note and a follow up of the original ordered keyboard projected delivery date. The Web TV customer service is OUTSTANDING! They are the example all companies should follow :)

5.0 out of 5 stars Webtv is the best., March 27, 2003

And this keyboard does it all. I have the Magnavox version of the same keyboard. It works with webtv classic or webtv plus. I can flip the screen to go back to the tv program or move my pip around the screen while I am surfing the net or adding pictures to my web pages. I don't know how people put up with computers. There are no pop up ads with webtv and virtually no maintanance because all upgrades are free. I use a phillips keyboard and remote with my sony webtv plus unit with no problem. Also controls the volume and power of my tv. You can buy the newer version of this phillips keyboard from me. And it comes with a 90 day warranty.Happy surfing.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Replacement Keyboard, April 22, 2004

Almost thought the webtv would be thrown over the fence after contacting Sony and ascertaining that Sony no longer has replacement keyboards. This unit is actually better than the original; a bit larger and with convenient thumb indentations for ease in holding the keyboard. Price was actually less than the previous board purchased through Sears. Alas, the purchase of a Dell shall have to wait.
