Excellent Picture but....., December 5, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Sony KV-24FV10 24" Trinitron Wega TV (Electronics)
I rencently purchased the 24" WEGA and here are my comments: Strenghts: 1. Superb picture quality The picture on the WEGA is unbelievable. The colors are very natural. The picture is sharp and crisp. 2. Flat Screen makes the difference The flat screen does make a tremendous difference to the picture. I compared the WEGA to Panasonic SuperFlat and found the WEGA to be much better in color (Panasonic has slighly "unnatural" colors" as well as overall picture quality) and SuperFlat is not "ruler" flat as the WEGAs. 3. Looks I personally like the silver finish of the WEGA. They add personality to your living room. 4. Sturdy Construction The WEGAs are solid (and heavy !) Weaknesses 1. Lack of Component Video inputs For such a high price I was expecting component video inputs. 2. Cant hold blacks This a major drawback. When the "black" level in the DVD player is set to "high" / "dark" (many DVD players have the option of setting the black level), the WEGA cannot handle it and switched back and forth between the blank "DVD" screen and the movie being played. 3. Picture modes The WEGA has three picture modes : Standard, Vivid and Movie. Movie is the best bet, Standard is OKish but Vivid is horrible. I was expecting a better set of modes. Verdict : Overall excellent picture, pricey. If you plan to buy a DVD player to go with the WEGA, make sure that it has the ability to change the black level.

Tried one, then filled house full with them!, December 5, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Sony KV-24FV10 24" Trinitron Wega TV (Electronics)
One day, I was in Circut City looking at all the high prices when, bam, it hit me like a stone. The Sony KV-24FV10 TV! I thought I'd try one. I was reluctant to for over the cash (not at Circut City), but I still did it. When I got home, I was amazed at the ease of setup. As I connected the S-Video cable to the back I was worried that this TV may be of lesser quality than the one at the store, yet I went on. After I poped the 007 DVD in the player, I was amazed! I almost fell over, and I'm not kidding. Today, 1 month after that amazing event, I have a total of 3 of these TVs. Two 24s and a 36. I love them and will not switch to anything else.

Best TV I every owned! Super clear and bright, October 28, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Sony KV-24FV10 24" Trinitron Wega TV (Electronics)
Crisp, bright - exceptional clear view is what you will get on a completely flat screen. It is just breath taking to view. The speakers at the side are pretty good too, especially the clearity of sound and the output is 10 watts which is very much a surprise. Turning up the volume is very loud. The case is very good looking and extremely modern even going into the 2000! Just cannot wait to finish the family room to buy a 36 inche version or a 43 in remote projection. You cannot go wrong and the extra cost is very worth the investment. Go for it.

Very Cool Television, October 1, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Sony KV-24FV10 24" Trinitron Wega TV (Electronics)
I bought this TV about 8 weeks ago...Of course I overpaid for it at Circuit City; however I could not be more pleased with my purchase. Digital television seems to be lagging so I went ahead and splurged.... Wow, this television screen is amazingly flat and bright. I enjoy watching this Sony more than my larger 36" Proscan... perhaps it is the aesthetic of its modern, sleek design. Definately the next best thing to those prohibitively expensive plasma screens.... YEAH SONY !!

Unbelievable picture for an affordable price!!, October 14, 1999

This review is from: Sony KV-24FV10 24" Trinitron Wega TV (Electronics)
If you are going to buy any Tv on the market, make sure that it is a Sony FD Trinitron WEGA flat screen TV. This is the top of the line for today's television. How can I rave about the EXTREME clarity and focus. Man! It is super clear. Also, the contrast is so high, it is nice and bright, and so real looking, rather than having dull colors on a conventional set. Now, don't be so excited, however, if you would buy it only for cable TV. Cable TV is so fuzzy, so I'd recommend getting Satellite TV. And when I first used my Nintendo 64 video game system, I was AMAZED at the high focus and resolution with the S-Video cable. I could look up close to the screen and I wouldn't even see any dot crawl, shimmering, or fuzz. It is exactly like looking at a picture. In other words, the picture is totally stable. And, I can turn on all of my room lights and there is NO glare what so ever. I can leave all my windows open too. And, since it's flat, there is no picture distortion either. Don't think about buying any other TV. This one is almost like watching Digital/HDTV!!!

This unit is over-hyped and over-priced,performance fair., October 8, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Sony KV-24FV10 24" Trinitron Wega TV (Electronics)
The unit reviewed was purchased 2 weeks ago and has no extra features or performance to justify the high price tag when compared against similar models. If the only reason to buy a "flat" screen is for performance, your money can be spent wiser with a less expensive model with advanced features, non of which appear with this unit.

Yes! if you concern about quality, October 28, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Sony KV-24FV10 24" Trinitron Wega TV (Electronics)
I just bought this model after shop around many brands. Its quality is very impressive. Color is vivid. I first saw it with playing Bug's Life from DVD at SoundTrack and had to search from Sony web site what kind of this TV. Even it's more expensive than others in the same size but it's worth money if you prefer the top quality (that's why it's very expensive) because at this price you can get 27" or 32"TV.

Best CRT TV I have ever seen!, October 9, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Sony KV-24FV10 24" Trinitron Wega TV (Electronics)
The Sony Wega flat TV's are so superior to all of the other tube TV's. If you go to the store and look at them side by side, the difference is amazing. Once you watch one, you will never go back to an ordinary TV again. Cause this is no ordinary TV.

Performed Fine for 2 Years . . ., January 28, 2004
This review is from: Sony KV-24FV10 24" Trinitron Wega TV (Electronics)
I have many Sony products in my home, but never have I been more disappointed in a product and Sony's customer service. This set crapped out 2 years after I purchased it. Sony did not want to know anything. An estimate to fix it was $200 for a set that I had paid $550 for at Circuit City. Sony would not even meet me half way on the part even though they replaced it with another indicating that it had been a problem.
