Feels like it's made of cardboard? Nonsense!! The structure is made of very rigid plastic panels covered with some kind of synthetic material that is textured to - - supposedly - - look like the surface of the camera. The camera barely fits into the case - - but this is a good thing, because it keeps the small size of the camera intact. Overpriced? All of Sony's accessories are always overpriced; get over it. If you buy this camera - - which I recommend - - then you need this case.

With most of the carrying case made of either fake leather or some kind of neoprene material, this one is really different. The rigid structure also seem to do a great job to protect the camera. There is also a belt loop and D-ring feature which is great.

This case fits the camera like a glove! It looks nice and protects it - and is an accessory you should get with this camera!!

It is a nice case and camera fits perfect. Wish it had a little pocket or sleeve for the memory card sleeve.

I just recently bought the sony DSC-M1 camera and absolutely love it. Since then, I was looking for a nice case to store it in. For $10-20 you can get a full blown padded camera case with all sorts of pockets, zippers, straps and what-not.
The thing is, a big point about this camera, is just how small and portable it is. Stuffing that in a generic camera case does as much as triples the size of it.

Thats where this case comes in. Its probably one of the cheapest feeling (and looking) cases I've seen. Essentially it feels as though its made of cardboard (with a very thing layer of polyester wrapped around it), honestly, it feels like this case cost sony about 2 cents to make, and that is no joke.

So why the heck did I give this 4 stars?

Well, it works great for what its designed for. Its a great fit, so adds almost NO extra size to the already tiny camera (A huge plus), has a belt loop, as well as a metal ring.. This is nice as it lets you connect it to your pants and very easily slide the camera in or out.. Other cases have you stumblings trying to squeeze a camera in there.

I would've liked SOME additional compartment for it (2nd battery or additional Memory Stick)

Finally, this camera does fully enclose the camera. Both the upper left and right sides of the camera are fully exposed.

So again, with those additional problems, why the heck am I giving it 4 stars?

Simply, It works.

Its way too much money for what you get, and you're really only paying for the SONY name on the packaging. But its the best case out there for the M1. If you spent $600 on the camera like myself, you can spend $30 on a real good case for it.

If you want an all-in-one case, by all means get one of the generic branded ones, You'll get a lot more functionality for a lot less. If you're looking for a 'perfect fit' designed specifically for this camera, and one designed to keep it the same exact size, get this.

not a bad case, but not worth the money. your pocket works just as well.
