Great quality headphones from Sony,
This review is from: Sony MDR-G54LP Street Style Headphones (Electronics)
If you're looking for a pair of headphones that won't break down on you, these are the ones. You can always count on Sony to make quality audio equipment, and that's no exception here with these behind-the-head style headphones that are well-designed not to slip off your ears. The sound is nice and crisp, with a deep bass and a high treble, ideal for any type of audio. The cord is nice and long at about 6 feet, but it's not too long that it will get in your way. Overall, this is a great pair of headphones from Sony that I would recommend to anyone.

Good all around headphones,

PROS:
* Modern, simplistic design * Great sound, unexpected from $ 20 headphones * Snug fit, doesn't fall off of head, great for joggers * Neodymnium magnets deliver powerful bass * Cord is just the perfect length, unlike other Sony headphones [*cough* MDR-Q55SL *cough*] CONS: * Fit may be tight for people with a taller build * Tends to pinch ears * Neckband gets in the way when you turn your head These are very good headphones for bargain hunters or people who are active. People with taller builds or bigger heads may want to look elsewhere. But, I feel that the pros far outweigh the cons, especially at this price point.

I already had a pair of these headphones, but accidentally broke them :( I looked everywhere for another pair I'd like, but had to buy these again. They look awesome, sound quality is great. The cable is twice as long of any other headphones (great when working at your computer). The only reason they get 4 stars instead of 5 is that they're a little uncomfortable when you have to wear glasses. You won't regret buying these!

Great Price Great Sound,

I just bought these headphones before I went on a 4.5 hour plane ride to Mexico, so I knew even if I didn't like them I would be stuck with them. I spent $20 on them. I think they give off great , clear sound. Good bass also. I always play my music as loud as the headphones will let me, most of my older headphones would be somewhat muffled when the bass drums would come in. With these it doesn't happen at all. They stay on your head while you are running or playing other sports. I was really happy that I bought these headphones.

Success where others have failed,

The first and foremost thing I have to say about these headphones is that Sony stepped back and re-thought street-style design entirely. Most of the other headphones of this style that you'll find have the "little clip thingy", the part that pushes down on the back of your ear. Everybody complains about it and some people just rip it out. With these headphones you don't have to worry about pulling anything uncomfortable off because there's nothing uncomfortable about them! I suppose your ears might ache a bit after prolonged use from the pads pushing your ears slightly, but that's expected with pretty much any headphone. The neckband is quite lightweight and flexible, accomidating a wide range of head sizes and reducing risk of breaking when put into a backpack.
I upgraded to these from earbuds and found the improved sound quality satisfying. It's one of those cases where I can hear parts of songs that I never heard before. The cord length is long enough and, in my opinion, not too long such that it gets in the way. Also they're relatively cheap. An over-all good buy!

I've used my Sony MDR-G54LP Street Style Headphones daily for over a year now. Completely pleased. Here's how I use them and the features that work for me:
- Daily bike commute. Open back let's me hear what's up. - Skiing and biking. Street style rides comfortably below my helmets - Listening. Good sound for pod-casts and music on the move. - Travel. Tangle free cloth covered cable, foldable. - Computer or stereo. Removable extension. Getting another one incase this one ever wears out or gets lost. -Mike

good but not perfect,
This review is from: Sony MDR-G54LP Street Style Headphones (Electronics)
Bought this pair of headphones about 6 months back. The headphones are good but not perfect. They look good and the sound quality is good too for such a low price. I use the headphones rough and are normally stored in the front pocket of my backpack. They lasted long (none of my prev. headphones lasted more than 2-3 months) and I'm still using them.
I wear spectacles and at first they were a little uncomfortable around my ears but now I got used to them. One major irritant is the v-shaped frame. It doesn't sit properly at the back of the head and frequently touches the collar of my shirt. I have to readjust them every time the frame falls down between my neck and the shirt collar. Overall, 4/5 . Good sound, nice looking, durable but with few drawbacks.

I bought these because I was looking for something I could use while jogging. These are not good for jogging. They get really uncomfortable to wear after about 30 minutes. Also the cord is way too long. I had to loop it several times so that it wasn't hanging ridiculously low. I thought perhaps if I used them when I wasn't jogging that they wouldn't be so uncomfortable. But I find that even when I am just sitting on the sofa with these on that my ears get tired from the weight within about 30 minutes. They sound ok (decent amount of bass), but since I can only wear them for about 30 minutes before they get uncomfortable, I don't find them worth owning. The Sony MDR-J10 h.ear Headphones with Non-Slip Design (Black) are way better for jogging and cost half the price. For inexpensive general use I'll stick with my V-MODA Bass Freq Earbuds - Bling Bling Black.

Awesome - great fit - stylish,
By

These headphones are awesome, the fit perfectly to any shape of head and look great. One of the things I've been amazed with is how durable these bad boys are: they've been in the floor and been pulled of my nano a couple of times, and they're ALWAYS on my backpack (as I am a student) and after all this punishment, they STILL work and sound perfectly. The cord is kinda long, i wish they had an optional extension cord (i think there is another model with this) but anyways I'm very pleased with my purchase.
As long as my Nano, these headphones are WAY better than the ones the iPod came with, almost in every term : durability, sound, how the look, fit...etc etc. The design is eye-catching, my friends always say these headphones sound a LOT better than most of the ones they've tried. I love music and these and my Nano hang out with me 24/7 and have never disappointed me. As the name says, these are STREET style headphones, what I understand by that is that they are for people that are in constant movement. These are no good for sleeping or plane travels, the head band will wet in your way when you lay down in bed. And the will get a little bit uncomfortable when you are in your airplane seat, as these are long seats where you are most likely to lay your head to the back. Anyway, having in mind these precautions, I'd highly recommend these headphones.

Epic Headphones,

yeah I'm one of those people that can't use earbuds (AAAnnd i mean literally because I use hearing aids) and I must say that I don't feel like im missing out at all. These headphones have amazing sound quality and a durability that is simply astounding. I put them through about 6 years of fairly constant abuse before i needed to buy a new pair (which i opted for another - exactly like my old ones and was not dissapointed). Running headlong into a longboarder on your bicycle is not advisable while wearing these headphones around your neck - as it might cause a part of the product to snap (it was actually just structural damage - the mechanics of the device were preserved and i managed to fix with some wire and tape (while waiting for the new ones). But yes if you are like me and wear hearing aids i might highly recommend these as they fit comfortably on my ears with the aids in/ and I personally dont have dumbo ears so its not like 'easy' for me to wear both at once. Again, remarkable sound quality and they're exceptionally lightweight. I like to think I know what I'm talking about in comparison relativity because I've tested ALOT of headphones. These will definately get you the most bang for your buck, delivering some good sound to your ears while looking trendy, retro, and all that jazz.
