4.0 out of 5 stars Not bad for such a light headphone
This headphone, though very light, produces crystal clear sound and respectable bass. It's quite amazing considering the size and the weight. It doesn't disconnect you from the rest of the world (when you don't want to be) by closing off your ear, and its sound quality is orders of magnitute better than those throw-away ear-buds. It's very comfortible, too, just make sure...

3.0 out of 5 stars Waterproof but no great shakes
I bought these ones with my Sony Sports discman. I always had a problem. When doing good exercise sweat got the better of my earphones. SO these made sense. But when God opens one door he closes another(sorry for the inversion). Even though these offer good waterproofing the sound quality leaves a lot to be desired. SO therefore the 3 star rating. The sound was not crisp...

I use it with an Archos Jukebox Recorder and they are a perfect match. Highly recommended for the price.

This was the headphone model that replaced the original equipment headphone for my ancient Sony Walkman (SRF-M73) and its predecessor. It has been on two dog walks per day in the rain, heat(sweat!!!), dropped, wires caught on tree limbs, and other thorough torture. Very robust headphones for sport use. Good frequency response. In-ear over-the-head design means you can use them while mowing the yard. About the only way I ever break them is to drop the Walkman enough times that the wires in the cord are torn, though this requires *A LOT* of drops.

Only complaint: cord is about six inches too short. If you have really DEEP pockets in your sportswear, the cord is *just barely* too short to put your Walkman (iPod, etc.) in your pocket.

Have it for 8 months. Ultra durable, flexible, sounds good. HAve run with it in the rain, sweat resistant (wont stop playing due to ear sweat).

However the sound is very weak, and does not sound good with my ipod... Sounds good with my high power PC audio but not with
portable devices.. But its ultra durable and good looking

These are light and somewhat comfortable. As other reviewers have said they have VERY little bass. Lots of highs though, almost tinny sounding. If they performed better on the lows I'd rate them higher.

I got a pair of these, for more at Circuit City, and my wife finds them very suitable for her early morning work outs. Only problem is that the cord is not very long - only about 3 feet.

4.0 out of 5 stars The only one I would buy, October 23, 2010
This review is from: Sony MDR-W20G Sports Vertical In-The-Ear Headphones (Electronics)
More comfortable than earbuds or hook-over-the-ear models. Stays in place even if you snag the wires. The bright yellow plastic makes it obvious that you can't hear the outside world, unlike stealth earbuds that just make you look clueless. Audio has good bass, clean mid- and upper-ranges. I agree with another comment that the cord is barely long enough.

I like these headphones, cord is a bit short for me. I keep the cd player in my coat pocket so, that is why I'fd like the cord longer. The sound is great because, I bought a Maxwell which sounded like it was coming threw an aluminum can. I perfer the in ear headphones for comfort those earbuds always fall out of my ears.

1.0 out of 5 stars they're yellow for a reason...weak, October 11, 2002

I'm a disc jockey so I think I know what I'm talking about when I say: Please pass on these horrid-sounding headphones. Had to get some good 'phones for my ipod and my workouts but definitely got the wrong ones with these. Oh how the mighty Sony has fallen. Absolutely no bass, even after I cranked it up on the player. Just a treble filled session at the gym. Needless to say, couldn't get the blood pumping with only highs in the headphones. Just got the Sennheiser MX500's and am very impressed with the audio, just wish they had a headband 'cause the earbud style keeps slipping out after some sweat. Back to the MDR-W20G's. They [stink]. Don't buy anything from Sony that's under [a certain prices] because they just don't seem to care about the quality and, subsequently, making money.
