Decend, Basic MD Recorder/Player, January 5, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Sony MDSJE320 MiniDisc Recorder (Electronics)
This MD Recorder/Player is a good recorder and player itself. If you are into clear cut usabilty, this is it. The funtions are not confusing and it's simple interface allows a smooth recording of MDs.
This model is not just for recording however, you can connect this MD component to any stereo system to playback any MD that you recorded or those pre-recorded MDs as well. Another way to play-back MD's is to hook up self amplified speakers to the RCA jacks in the back of the unit.
But if you want lots of functions and features, this isn't the model you should get. There are no shuffle or repeat function on this model. And labeling MDs can cause severe aches to you wrist and arms because of the repetitive motions involved in the process because of the jog-dial. Another thing that can get to you is that the numbers displayed for the number of tracks on the MD is limited to 25, for those who record a lot of short songs or sounds onto MDs, this is a serious drawback because once you past 25, it gets confusing as to what track you're on.

for the money this is not a bad played/recorder, can be got cheaper on sale. Much better than casette tape. Nearly aas good as CD. I would not pay 199, can get for 160 else where. you will be happy with it, remeber that it is for making copies for use not for pre recorded music
