5.0 out of 5 stars The minumum amount of memory you should have
Way better than 4MB, and much better than 16MB, this 32MB memory stick will do you pretty well. 2.0 out of 5 stars Not cool at this price!
Since the price is Sony's own list price, you can find it cheaper at many online stores. The product itself is fine. The price is the problem.

5.0 out of 5 stars The minumum amount of memory you should have, November 19, 2000

Way better than 4MB, and much better than 16MB, this 32MB memory stick will do you pretty well. I have been using one for a while, and it served me well taking medium resolution images on two short trips this summer. I ended up having to delete images towards the end of the trip to fit in more exciting photo ops, though, and I really wish I had bought an extra one of these, or the 64MB card.

If you shoot low res pix only (640x480), you'll get about 200 pix out of this memory stick, which certainly is not a bad amount. I shoot at medium resolution (1024x768) when on trips, and I get 95-100 images before it's full. When I shoot tiffs (record keeping for artwork), though, it only has enough space for two or three images. Fortunately, I only shoot those at home, and can immediately download them to the computer, but if you're looking to take a vacation or do a lot of shooting between computer downloads at high resolution, you'll need a 64MB card, or at least a couple of these 32MB ones.

I am happy with this product, and very glad that I didn't settle for the 16MB card, which is, in my opinion, nightmarishly small.

As with anything involving memory (whether cameras or computers or PDAs, etc.), you really have to figure out how much you think you need, and then buy twice as much.

Have you got 4Mb memory stick included with your camcorder? Was it enough? NO! So, here is what you need and the price per Mb is resonable.

4.0 out of 5 stars Pricey but solid performance, December 7, 2001
This review is from: Sony MSA32A 32 MB Memory Stick Media (Personal Computers)
I was first peeved about having to but stuck with a predetermined Sony memory stick format. But after continued use in TRV900, TRV11 video cams and the Sony Clie PDA- I have to say I'm very happy with the memory stick's flexibility. I usually hate being stuck in a specific company format, but at least Sony did it right.

The transfer rate in the Clie is very rapid. Backing up the entire contents of the Clie takes literally a few seconds. The Clie has a program that allows you RUN programs off of the memory stick. This is not the fastest operating speed, but it is no worse than a Zip drive disk.

The size and reliability is unbeatable. Compared to a San memory card that has lost it's life after 1 year, the Sony memory sticks have performed flawlessly for pics, data, and application runs. Go for the 32+ MB and up - just like a hard drive, you think a realistic amount is adequate. But once you start shooting and using, you'll wish you upgraded for the bigger stick.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hard to find memory card., February 26, 2009
This review is from: Sony MSA32A 32 MB Memory Stick Media (Personal Computers)
This memory card was exactly what I was looking for. It is an older camera that was handed down to me from our son, and the memory cards are hard to find. Glad to have found it on Amazon.com.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Product, October 1, 2008
This review is from: Sony MSA32A 32 MB Memory Stick Media (Personal Computers)
Great product had no problems using it for my Sony Handicam, only complaint is that I should have gotten more MB, with only 32 MB there's very little video I can do so I had to eventually break down and buy a 60 minute tape, but that was my fault.
