I have gone through several sets of earbuds for my MP3 player, but was never really satisfied with the sound, and none of them fit securely enough to use duing any sort of activity. I decided to get myself a quality set of light weight headphones and picked up these Sony's last week. I am totally satisfied with them. The bass is much fuller than any of the earbuds I have tried, and the midrange and treble much more detailed. When playing music I have heard before it is like listening to a whole new recording. Once properly adjusted, the headphones are comfortable and secure, too, allowing me to use them while engaging in routine physical activity like running, cycling, etc.

I got these as a present recently and let me just say that they are great! I usually prefer over-the-ear headphones, because I can't stand the sound quality and discomfort caused by in-ear headphones. However, over-the-ear headphones can be cumbersome and annoying when running or working out.
In comes the Sony MDR-AS100W. They fit my head perfectly, and create a comfortable seal over my ear canal. I love the combination of silicon ear bud combined with the more traditional Ipod earphone-like headphones that go over the ear canal. Sort of combine the bests of both designs.
As far as activity; these headphones do not move at all. Perfect for running, hiking, or working out. The short cord means you will not have an annoying wire getting in the way of your movements.
If you can find a deal on these, I definitely suggest buying them.

I purchased my original pair from SonyStyle and absolutely loved them. After about a year and a half of almost daily use, they finally gave up. When I went back to Sony to purchase another pair I was surprised to find that they didn't sell them anymore. I found a pair on Amazon, I didn't hesitate to order. When I received the head phones the first thing I noticed was that the box seemed worn. I opened the box and found that the plastic case for the headphones was damaged, no big deal. When I took the headphones out they didn't seem to be of the same quality of construction as my original pair. They had screws sticking out on the band where they adjusted, my original pair didn't have screws and they didn't line up properly. Not even a month and they quit. I think that these aren't what they say they are?
