Sony Memory Stick Adapter to CompactFlash AD-MSCF1

If you would like to be able to use tiny Memory Stick (Pro) Duo cards in Compact Flash slots this is the adapter that can make it happen. I have a Sony Alpha camera that accepts Flash cards only and I also have a couple of spare and rather small (1 and 2 GB) Memory Stick cards that had no good use until I decided to splurge on this adapter purchase. Now, I let the kids use the camera for their own projects and they can take the memory sticks in and out, move them to their computers where they do editing and so forth while my 'good' shots stay on my own 16GB flash - I back it up often :).

In just 3 words: it works well.

And, expanding my evaluation:

- it does what it's supposed to do

- it's easy to use (no manual needed)

- lets me squeeze some functionality off some old hardware

Essential for Sony Alpha 200 to use memory stick pro in CF slot. Works perfectly and allows the flexibility to use memory stick pro in the Sony alpha 200 DSLR. Works perfectly.

At first glance, this item seemed pricy at best for what it does, but after examining the sheer number of memory sick duos in my possession, it was worth the price. Why continue to purchase media for devices that use compact flash cards when one adapter can resurrect previously purchased but presently unused and virtually dead cards? No reason with this adapter, and it works very well, to boot.

Sometimes, one has to spend money to save money. This is one of those cases.

I think Sony did a marvelous job making this Compact Flash adapter so that it fits the Memory Stick, as I had other Sony cameras which used them. Now I can continue using the memory stick for items I have for using them, and also the choice to still use Compact Flash.
