Who knows how to solve the C:13:01 error ?,
By
This review is from: Sony 128 MB Memory Stick Media (MSH-128) (Retail Package) (Personal Computers)
I bought the Sony 128 MB Memory Stick (MSH-128) a few months ago, but I only used it once. When I was in my 20th picture, an error appeared in the screen of my Sony P100 camera:
Error C:13:01, Memory Stick failed First, I went to Sony Service Center, but they didn't know what was happening. Then, I went to different Sony Stores, but the only answer they gave me was that my Memory Stick is failed, that it's impossible to fix or format it and, the worst, there is no way to save the pictures !!!! Finally, I tried to solved it by myself, and I "google" the C:13:01 error. If you do it, you will find hundreds of people with the same problem, looking for a solution. That's why I don't recommend this product. If all of us have the same problem, you can be the next.

I had this memory stick for less than a month when it all of a sudden dumped all my photos while offering the C:13:01 Memory Stick error prompt. After much research I found that there were no solutions, so now the stick is dead and all of my important photos are lost to the wind.

My journey began when I purchased a SONY PDA (PEG-N760C)capable of handling additional memory, using a MS (Memory Stick). After hours of surfing, reading and two inquiries to SONY customer service to determine what maximum size would work, I purchased a 2Gb MS from Amazon, assured that it would work well. Wrong.
Because of the limitations of the Palm OS (4.1), it did not work. Period. I then called a SONY retail store in Schaumburg,IL and was told that my unit would accept the MSH-128. Nothing larger.I returned the 2Gb MS to an Amazon supplier, and ordered the 128Mg MS from Amazon direct. No problems in return, no problems in receiving the replacement MS.The MS stick plugged in, the OS recognized the added memory, and I have an additional 128Mg of satisfaction! The MSH-128 works nicely in my SONY Clie, and I am now able to load additional data (pictures, music, programs) that I could not have done before. [I also have a SONY S-360 PDA that will accept this Memory Stick (MSH-128) as well.] No problems. This is the reason that members of our family use Amazon extensively for gifts, for Xmas and for personal purchases. Amazon, you make it easy. Thank you.

Essential if you buy Sony Digital Camera,

A key limitation of Sony Camera is its use of proprietary technology in memory stick. The original purchase comes with 32MB stick which fills up very quickly if you have default settings.
Therefore, if you have made the decision to purchase Sony digital camera or own one, I recommend buying this accessory. So far I have not had any issues with the product and it has significantly enhanced functionality of my SONY camera.

I like this large capacity for my college lectures recording. (I think recording your lectures are essential if you are a college student because some crazy professors speak way too fast.) This memory stick converts to a large capacity that I dont have to worry about erasing stuffs for a while. Easy to handle and super light.
I have used it for over a year and never had a problem. Again, never had a single problem with this cute little blue stick. Price is so adequate if you buy from Amazon.com. The only improvement I hope to see from Sony for this MSH series is that Sony should make some bigger capacity for MSH. At least up to 512MB or preferably 1GB. Unfortunately, I think Sony is turning more attention to MSX-Pro series which are not compatible to my digital voice recorder. Other than, it is flawless. My precise rating for this: 4.8 "A"

My newly purchased item seems to be malfunctioning. After only taking a dozen pictures, my sony camera is showing a "memory stick error" message. Don't know how to progress.

I have 8 of these... yes 8! Only one in 5+ years has given me this error. They are great. Even sent one through the washer and dryer.... still works! I shoot upward of 1,000 shots per week.

I have an older Sony Camera that still works very well. But I could not locate the proper memory stick for the use in the camera until I saw them offered at Amazon.com. In the past I have tried other types of memory sticks in the camera when I was on a trip. But some times the pictures from the trip could not be downloaded from the off brand memory sticks.
Therefore since Amazon had them available our trip/vacations pictures have come out just great. Thanks for having these specific devices available on your site.

A 128 MB memory stick is a little on the small side, capacity wise but that's the largest stick my Sony camera would take. It work like it's supposed to and has a little write protect switch on it too. I probably should buy a new camera. I could get over twice the performance for half the money I paid for the camera I have now, but I'm cheap, so I'll wait until the old one breaks!

Sony has a monopoly when it comes to media to be used with their cameras because they do not accept other card formats. It usually costs at least 25% more per megabyte than other more universal formats - like SD cards.
