4.0 out of 5 stars Better than 4 MB, but don't trust a vacation to this one
If you shoot low res pix only (640x480), you'll get about 100 pix out of this memory stick, which isn't a bad amount of pix, but it also means you are shooting low resolution. If you're only taking pix for the web, that's great, and this memory stick will get you pretty far. But, if you are hoping to print your images out, you'll want to shoot higher resolution, which...

3.0 out of 5 stars Very weak capacity for full screen
Well, I got this with my camera (DSC-P73), and I have to say it's pretty weak. For low resolution pictures (VGA) and low resolution videos (160), no, this memory stick is the perfect buy. But, if you like your pictures and videos high quality and full screen, don't even think about buy this memory stick. On low setting pictures (VGA), you get I think 96 pictures, and on...

4.0 out of 5 stars Better than 4 MB, but don't trust a vacation to this one, November 19, 2000
This review is from: Sony 16 MB Memory Stick Media (MSA16A) (Personal Computers)
If you shoot low res pix only (640x480), you'll get about 100 pix out of this memory stick, which isn't a bad amount of pix, but it also means you are shooting low resolution. If you're only taking pix for the web, that's great, and this memory stick will get you pretty far. But, if you are hoping to print your images out, you'll want to shoot higher resolution, which means the 16MB memory stick isn't quite big enough if you're hoping to go out on a trip (unless you buy a few of them). I recommend at least a 32MB memory stick.

As with all Sony products, this is, of course, well made and solid, and works like a charm. Just make sure you know how much memory you need, and then buy more, always.

5.0 out of 5 stars Lots of pics..., June 12, 2000

This is a great way to get more use out of your digital camera. I took over a hundred pics on just this one card. Try doing that w/ film or a 4mb card.

5.0 out of 5 stars Need for speed!, September 17, 2000

This stick is great! Yesterday I took about 40 pics and 30 small videoclips with my Cybershot! And it wasn't even full! Try doing THAT with the 4MB card! No really, it's a must-have! The 4MB just isn't large enough, it's actually about the same size as a ordinary roll of film, that is, enough room for about 30-40 pics at 640x480, wich isn't all that much. BUY!

5.0 out of 5 stars Peeved at first, but delighted with consistent performance, December 7, 2001
This review is from: Sony 16 MB Memory Stick Media (MSA16A) (Personal Computers)
I was first peeved about having to but stuck with a predetermined Sony memory stick format. But after continued use in TRV900, TRV11 video cams and the Sony Clie PDA- I have to say I'm very happy with the memory stick's flexibility. I usually hate being stuck in a specific company format, but at least Sony did it right.

The transfer rate in the Clie is very rapid. Backing up the entire contents of the Clie takes literally a few seconds. The Clie has a program that allows you RUN programs off of the memory stick. This is not the fastest operating speed, but it is no worse than a Zip drive disk.

The size and reliability is unbeatable. Compared to a San memory card that has lost it's life after 1 year, the Sony memory sticks have performed flawlessly for pics, data, and application runs.

These smaller MB sizes aren't fair for the price. Go for the 32+ MB and up - just like a hard drive, you think a realistic amount is adequate. But once you start shooting and using, you'll wish you upgraded for the bigger stick.

5.0 out of 5 stars Stunning, March 18, 2011

This is the best seven dollars you could ever spend. Sure, for just 20 more bucks you could get a card 1/8 the physical size of this one that has ONE THOUSAND TIMES of the capacity . . . but who needs that. Besides, I can use this little beauty in my Sony Cyber-Shot AND my Sony PSP!! Sure, those overpriced, high-capacity cards might work on virtually every consumer electronic device ever produced in the last decade, but can I use THEM to save my progress in Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep once or possibly twice? No way!

3.0 out of 5 stars Very weak capacity for full screen, December 26, 2004

This review is from: Sony 16 MB Memory Stick Media (MSA16A) (Personal Computers)
On low setting pictures (VGA), you get I think 96 pictures, and on low setting videos (160) I think you get about 11 and a half minutes. However, on medium setting pics (4) you get only 8 pics and on medium setting video (640 Standard) you only get 42 seconds to be exact. You should be saying that is ridiculous! But, for people who don't really care much about quality or resolution, this is a perfect buy for you, though, if you like medium/high quality and high resolution pics and vids, I recommend the 256MB memory stick (SDMSV-256).

I purchased this to use with my Sony Clie. The handheld instantly registered the memory stick and I was able to use it like a zip disk. A 16 MB stick is more than enough for a handheld. Now all I need is a digital camera...

The 16M card is now cheaper than an 8. The Memory stick is awesome....I highly recommend using it. It's amazing how small they can make these things.
