Sony ECM-T6 Clip-On Microphone with an Omni-Directional Pick-Up Pattern

I use this to record chorus reharsals so I can listen to the recordings later and sing along. It works surpisingly well--and yields a sound ten times better than without a microphone at all. I just wish its cord were a little longer so I could put the cassette recorder on the floor instead of in my lap.

Understandably, the other reviews express their disappointment in the fact that the mic does not come with a battery - so you'll be needing a CR-2032 battery along with purchasing this...

NONETHELESS: The value is unbeatable. I used the mic extensively with Griffin's iTalk & my iPod to record motivational lectures, and the sound quality was significantly improved vs. not having used a mic with the iTalk. That said, this comes with a high recommendation, if you can deal with having to buy a battery once every couple of years. Sony definitely lives up to its reputation with this product.

Unfortunately, at least for me, this mic performed poorly - had to return it. The only way to get a clear recording is to have it sit PERFECTLY STILL. If you so much as touch it or move it, you get massive interference that drowns out (in my case) the voices you're trying to record. Tried it in several orientations - clipped to my shirt, clipped in a pocket, etc. None worked. To be avoided.

Other than the power switch is not easy to see, the most issue with this microphone is the sound quality not that good. Use this microphone to record music for sure will disappoint you. Even using it for church meeting recording, you would not get excited for its sound quality.

If you can tolerate the size of Sony ECM-MS907, you may like the sound quality of that microphone. If you like a small lapel microphone with true voice, try the AKG WMS-40 wireless system. Our people are much happier with the AKG wireless microphone than this one.

I bought this as a preacher and a speaker to digitally record my messages. It has a niche in the back that you turn with a coin to turn it "off" and "on" but you never know it's on until it is to late. Save yourself the trouble, buy another one besides this one.

Why not sell the thing with a battery, it's a special battery, not available in the boonies, so I have a choice....Drive 30 miles or wait another week for a battery to come in the mail. Iknow, Iknow in the text it does say battery not included but who reads that? So for the folks who read this... BUY A BATTERY TOO!!!!

I am a musician, I bought one, I cannot use it, the sound is smaller than the noise even I turn up to the full/ max volume.
It is likely the kid toy.

This is a really good quality mic, especially for the price. The only objection is the on/off switch. It is a major nuisance.

I bought this to record into my laptop which does not have an internal mic. It sort of records when I yell into it but the sound quality is horrid. Unusable.
