In this review I am going to explain the differences that make the PSP 1000 clear as a choice for some or show the PSP 2000/3000 to be a better choice ndepending on your needs.

PSP 1000

-Built to withstand drops thanks to a metal chassi
-Can easily be modified to have CFW (CFW is legal, not piracy)
-Inexpensive compared to other systems
-easily repaired and many parts available online

PSP 2000/3000

-Has double the memory of PSP 1000 (from 32mb to 64mb)
-33% more energy efficient (runs on 1200mah battery versus 1800mah battery on PSP 1000, but lasts just as long)
-Slimmer and lighter but prone to breaks if dropped
-Some can not use CFW
-Can output video

To conclude both are great at playing games and media, but there are key differences that seperate which you should buy. If you like CFW, are clumsy, getting it for a kid, or just want a system that will last years pick a PSP 1000. If you want the latest and greatest in tech get the PSP 2000/3000, but a protective case is highly recommended.

I purchased this PSP for my son, with money he saved up to buy a psp. I was a little concerned about buying a used electronic game device over the internet but I was pleasantly surprised. It looks like new, it works perfectly and he is very very happy. So thank you for making sure the quality of the products you advertise is good.

This sony psp is the greatest thing I ever seen. The graphics are unbelievable good. I play it all the time. I am in a wheel chair and don't have a lot I can do, but I do now. Wonderful, Thanks Darrell

This is the first version of the PSP. It's built more solid than the later versions and is completely hackable for Custom Firmware. The screen is also good however the buttons are a little less responsive at times and the analog stick is also pretty bad. Both of those are improved in newer versions, something to think about if you are buying this version. The UMD door is more prone to break on this than the newer ones though I've never had the issue. Last, newer versions have more built in memory acting as cache. If you can get over than though, you have a solid hand held ( that will withstand drops on the floor unlike the slim ones) ready for more years of enjoyment.

It is so good to know that there are still people you can trust in this world. The seller had no reviews and had just launched, so I was a little skeptical. I couldn't find the PSP for a better price or with a description just as good so I took the risk. SO glad I did!! The PSP WORKS there isn't a single scratch on the screen, it looks brand new!! The seller was also amazing at communicating with me back and fourth on questions I had, just a really pleasant and wonderful person to do business with! If the seller ever has anything I need again they will definitely be my go to person. Package shipped Tuesday, arrived Thursday!!! WOW! I'm just so happy and I can't wait to give this as a gift! I ordered a PSP from this company on November 30, 2010 and jsut received it 2day on December 4, 2010 very pleased with the product, its in EXCELLENT condition. My brother loves the product very much (its a Christmas Gift) also very pleased with the speedy service and the power cord even came with the product. (THANK GOD) Will recommend friends, and family to order items from there store.

The PlayStation Portable is a very fun handheld, and I'm not even a big handheld fan. The games have graphics like the PS2, and it has a control stick, which isn't seen often in handhelds. It plays UMD's rather than cartridges, which are tiny discs that stay in a protective case, so you don't have to worry so much about your discs getting dirty or scratched, which is nice. (Just remember to buy a memory stick duo for saving.) The screen is also a decent size.
One problem is the rechargable battery doesn't last super long. It gets to 1 bar of power left in about 3 hours and 45 minutes. It can last at least 4 hours, but be careful not to play too long. If the power indicator flashes, it means the charge is low, but it gives you very little warning. You barely have enough time to reach a save point, so I always charge it before it ever gets that low. The PSP takes a little over 2 hours to charge. In case you're wondering if it can be used while it's charging (the manual doesn't address this), I heard that you can, but some people say you should be careful the battery doesn't get too hot. I've never tried it, so I don't know. I wish the manual would've told me.
The PSP can also play movies, but you must buy the little UMD versions of the movie, and it's supposed to be able to go on the Internet. Mine had trouble with the Internet. After a short time, it would say the RAM is low and not go on any more sites. I don't know if it's just mine or the PSP just has trouble because it's the older version. If going on the Internet is important to you, you may want to see which version of the PSP is best.
Overall, the PSP is a good handheld with good graphics and many fun games. The battery life is my main issue.

Exactly has discribed...thanks for speedy and good item......can't wait to start using my psp but the only problem is I try using the PSP to download games and it won't I guess cuz its the old version so will have to buy the game disc.
