This is a great USB cable for the PSP.

You can pass both data and power through it.

Now as everything that is USB powered, it depends on where you plug it to how much electricity is going to go through it, if you have it in a regular not powered USB hub with a couple of other items connected to it, its not going to charge very fast. I personally plug it into either its own USB hole (on the computer) or a powered USB hub. Charging is fine.

It seems to charge fine while playing a PSP game off the Memory stick (don't have UMD's in the office to check if it can handle the added strain of spinning a disk).

As an added bonus, this cable can also charge and sync data with Sony E-readers (have tried it on a PRS-300 and works great)

I was surprised at the quality of this cable. I wasn't expecting much for the price I paid, but this cable is of excellent quality. Very thick casing and big, heavy-duty plug surrounds. Would definitely recommend this cable from HDE. I purchased this cable to charge my smartphone, PSP, Creative Zen, and Sansa Clip MP3 player, as this will charge any mini USB device and others. I saw this cable at another electronics website that was priced 4 TIMES as much! This cable is NOT a thin, cheap, flimsy cable from China like most electronic accessories are these days. 5 stars!

this is really bad cable. after a few days it came out i suggest u to don't buy just waste of money

not the best not the worst it works if you need a cheap replacement for the charger cable though it charges it vary slowly and you cant charge it and use its data cable at the same time, on a side note i found its usefull for recharging ps3 controllers when the main battery dies off (not the one that keeps its on board data on)

I first learned this type of cable existed from a friend of mine who has one. I decided to look for it and get one as it is indeed convenient to be able to charge your PSP from a computer and be able to transfer data at the same time.

I knew from the moment I saw the price that this would probably not be an officially licensed product but went ahead and ordered regardless. To my bad luck, the first time I used it on my computer all the USB drives stopped working. I had to take it for repair and they found that the cable actually caused a power problem in the USB drives, which is why they no longer worked.

**UPDATE**

I did hear back from the seller, they were following up continually and took it until the problem was resolved. They will have sent a replacement cable and I will update as soon as I have results.

**UPDATE 12/23/2010**

I finally received the replacement cable and a little bit afraid of messing again with my USB slots I tested it and it worked perfectly! I can only but assume I got a faulty unit the first time. The seller did an outstanding job following up and making sure that the product worked as expected. I think it is only fair I raise the rate I gave to the product to 3 stars (from one I originally gave)

Bought this for the sole purpose of charging my PSP and it did rarely serves its purpose.

I say "rarely" because there are times when it would charge and others when it wouldnt. The data one works just fine but the psp charger is an utter disappointment.

When I ordered this product, I was under the understanding that I would be getting a charger for my psp..........

DO NOT BE FOOLED BY THIS PRODUCT!!!

This couldn't charge the simplest of electronics let alone a psp. I set it on the charger as soon as I got it and tried to turn it on. Nothing happened........... So I figured I would wait a little bit longer. I gave it time to "Charge" my psp and when I came back, It did turn on however, it hadn't charged at all. After 10 hours of being on a charger, my psp didn't get a single percent charged in the battery. This item is a joke and I advise everyone to stay clear of this item and this seller..... That is unless you want you psp to just turn on without charging....... Then by all means, buy this piece of crap......... I WILL NEVER BUY FROM THIS SELLER AGAIN AND I PRAY NONE OF YOU DO.
