I toyed with the idea of cheaping out and going with an OEM equivalent lamp, but read to many bad reviews regarding lamp life etc. This is the Sony OEM replacement lamp, and it comes with the replacement filters. A great deal in my book as Vanns had it $50 cheaper than anywhere else. If your going to keep the projector for the forseeable future, buy the Sony lamp. It was the best decision IMO. Replacement was a snap for both the lamp and filter. My old bulb (original) still wasn't dead at 3500 hours of use on the high lamp setting, so I proactively replaced it and am keeping the old lamp as an emergency spare.

Item shipped was an OEM replacement, not a Sony part and not switchable. Not a big deal other than price. Worked with the company I bought it from and they corrected the issue. Just be careful when you get the item to make sure that the item you receive is the item you paid for, even if it is a reasonable substitute. Very satisfied with the customer service regarding the mix-up.

I would never order from this company. This transaction may have saved me $70, but I waited three weeks for the product to arrive based on this vendor clearly not having the product in stock. I called before I placed this order to ensure this kind of issue would not happen and was told I would have the lamp by the end of the week. Buy from Sony directly!!!!

I recently purchased this bulb from Sunny Lamp Co., a high tech producer out of China. The bulb arrived quickly at over $100 below the competition. It worked well for several days then began to dim noticeably. Then after bout a week my machine told me the bulb had reached the end of it's life! Not good. I contacted the vendor and they have authorized a return for replacement or full refund. Most companies won't offer to make good on an electrical part but Sunny Lamp Company did! Great job Sunny Lamp :)
