The SAIT1-500 from Sony is a tape cartridge designed for Sony's new generation SAIT1 storage solution. A high-capacity cartridge, the SAIT1-500 has a 500 GB native capacity with a native transfer rate of 30 MB/sec. With 2.6:1 data compression, you can achieve a 1.3 TB maximum capacity and a maximum rate of 78 MB/sec.

By utilizing an advanced metal evaporated (AME) half-inch tape, the SAIT1-500 has an expected archival life of over 30 years, so you can rest assured that your media will last a long time. A memory-in-cassette (MIC) chip in the tape allows the SAIT1 tape drive to quickly access data, while the adaptive lossless data compression provides increased capacity without sacrificing data quality.
