4.0 out of 5 stars Sony Walkman Speakers
Purchased a Sony Walkman and needed a dock to charge and listen to music in the house. They sound great. Would recommend to anyone looking for a good set of speakers for docking there walkman.

...small sound: you sacrifice power and detail in exchange for looks and compactness.

You can get much better for about the same money with the M-Audio AV30 powered speakers (about a hundred bucks from Amazon) or for a little less with the M-Audio Studio Pro 3 (about eighty bucks from Amazon). They're slightly bigger and heavier yes, but not ENORMOUS, and...

You can get much better for about the same money with the M-Audio AV30 powered speakers (about a hundred bucks from Amazon) or for a little less with the M-Audio Studio Pro 3 (about eighty bucks from Amazon). They're slightly bigger and heavier yes, but not ENORMOUS, and your ears will thank you and thank you and thank you.

And btw folks: don't get fooled by the marketing hype or crooked salespeople---you do NOT need any kind of special "dock" to hook up your MP3 player to speakers or a stereo system: a five dollar converter y-cable (splits the headphone output on your MP3 into standard red-and-white RCA stereo cables) from Walmart or Radioshack will do just fine. You can do the exact same thing with any powered computer speakers, btw.

These speakers are easy to set up. They sound wonderful. They were a great price also. I love the remote control that came with them.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not compatible with NWZ-A728, June 5, 2008

This review is from: Sony SRS-NWZ10 Walkman Speaker System with Cradle (Electronics)
Although the SonyStyle website claimed that this item was compatible with the NWZ-A728, it wasn't.

The attachment that comes with the mp3 player doesn't fit in the dock. I even tried attaching the mp3 player to the dock without the attachment and it was too fat. I will be returning this system.

I don't know the quality of this product when used in conjunction with a compatible product, but I just wanted to warn others who might think about buying this for their new mp3 player.

3.0 out of 5 stars Did what it was supposed to do., May 20, 2008
This review is from: Sony SRS-NWZ10 Walkman Speaker System with Cradle (Electronics)
The speakers are adequate. They won't win any awards for sound quality but they were OK. I wasn't expecting high end sound so they didn't disapoint me. I paid $117 plus tax and shipping - any more money would have been too expensive. I expected the remote to be more functional - e.g. navigate through the walkman menus, etc.

I like the design and the remote control, but if you are used to listen yamaha speakers, this sound like a toy or crap, but is matter of taste, so it is up to the listener.
