Sony SRS-Z500 Personal Speakers

I was actually on Amazon.com to purchase another pair of these amazing little speakers. My first set I paid about $100 9 years ago at a Sony Outlet store where they sell refurbished electronics. You can see they hold their value very well, and for good reason. They are sturdy, they sound amazing and they have very good highs and respectable lows. Here's a tip: if you're using these at a computer, bring them up to above or about ear level and it will sound like you have a smaller subwoofer attached. I have taken these with me to Europe and they are always the first thing I pack when I want to take my music with me on the road. I actually lost the original power adaptor for these but I found an excellent replacement for it. Radio Shack sells a 9v 1500mA compact AC adaptor that works absolutely perfectly with these speakers. (273-1771) I can crank the volume way up and the adaptor never gets hot. I challenge anyone to find a better set of stereo speakers for this price.

but after a month or 6 the glue will loosen of an inner membrane, causing a buzzing sound to be heard.
I found it a pitty and bought a second set. But the same happened on the second set.

I tried contacting Sony customer support many times, but with no success.

Buy this item if you want speakers that will sound good, and only need to last for about 6 months.

I know little about electronics, but these speakers offer great sound. My coworkers have asked about them, intrigued by their sound. I'm buying a second pair for my husband.
