Sony SSCR350H Center and Rear Speaker Package

I already had a pair of Hi-Fi speakers with excellent bass response for the front left and right as well as a pro-logic receiver. I had just not bothered to add the center and rear left and right speakers before. These Sony speakers have added a whole new world of listening/viewing pleasure to DVD's and even to CD's. They are very sturdily made a good materials and most importantly provide excellent response across the complete range of frequencies. The center speaker if fairly large and needs a secure position on top of a TV or cabinet. The rear speakers have 4" full range speakers that provide a very full sound and a very good complement (as they should) as the rear channel for movies in particular. The accompaning sets of speaker cables were sufficient to reach accross our living room around the perimeter to reach them as well. Overall an excellent value and an excellent addition to our system.

Its cheap for 3 speakers and it comes with wires but it sounds just ok. I tried out these speakers thinking they would match with the sony mb 150 speakers. It turns out that they sound very different. They are not nearly as clear as the sony 150's that feature the kevlar yellow cones. I also finally realized that the grills are not removable. In case you are looking to match these with other sony's in quality of sound this is not what you are looking for. But if you wanted a cheap package you may be satisfied. I'm going to get the sony cn550 instead.

The sound quality on these is poor, and you will find yourself immediately replacing them with something better - so don't waste your money. The center speaker sounds muddy and is not as good as the built-in speakers on my Toshiba TV - we don't even use the center speaker because it is so difficult to understand spoken dialog with it. After about a week I replaced it with a Polk (admittedly more expensive).

These speakers sound really nice, for the inexpensive price. the addition of surround sound really makes the movie experience better.

The center speaker packs more of a punch than I expected, yet is rather large and I had to be creative to find a way to mount it to the top of the TV.

These speakers use the old style spring-clip connectors, but they still have very good clarity when using a gold plated connector (I just use the ones that came with my speaker wire). The wire supplied with the speakers is the basic grey stuff Sony always sells, expect to spend a pretty penny upgrading your wire to ensure good sound quality.

I was very impressed with the sound I got with these very inexpensive speakers...Now my home theater system is complete and under budget yeah!

the speakers are good quality and the Amazon service is great as usual. sony has always been tops for me.

I ordered these speakers to try to create a home theater system with existing equipment we already had. Unfortunately, the receiver I had didn't have the correct connections to use with these Sony speakers. I was very impressed with the fact that Amazon let me return them (at their expense) for a full refund since the item was not what I had expected. I didn't get to use the speakers, but I'm confident they would have sounded amazing since Sony makes such quality products.
