I've already lost a camera while scuba diving: I had it in my wrist with the standard strap and it slipped out unnoticed in a second while I was adjusting my BCD in the watter. All the way down 500 ft. Bye bye...
That's why I bought this strap, and I love it!
The orange colour is very visible and cool, and it's sturdy. It does make my Sony cybershot TX30 camera float at surface so I can just "leave it there" while I adjust my BCD or check anything else before going down.
I've been down to 80 feet with it and it delivers: no more lost cameras for me.
When I'm not diving I just detach the orange strap from the short cord that holds the camera. Worth the price.

This is must-have accessory for a waterproof camera. Bright orange strap makes it easy to find. I have the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-TX5 and threw it into the pool and ocean with this strap attached and it floated at the surface. It has a quick release buckle so the orange float only needs to be attached when near water, just a short cord and 1/2 of the buckle is attached to the camera. You can easily unbuckle and detach the orange float to take it out on the town. So cool!

It won't win first place in a fashion accessories contest but... It will make you feel just a tad bit more comfortable using it in the water!!!! Having fun with friends/ family... Little laxidaisy... then oh no! Camera falls in the water!?! Oh wait! I have this handy floating strap! No worries! Easy to spot to with its reflective orange color! I was shooting some surfing videos with my Handycam from Sony (Which is another great product to have!!!) Got hit by a big wave, tumbled about under water, and my camera slipped off my wrist!?! I surfaced, looked around for a couple seconds...and there it was! The strap bobbing up and down amongst all the white water! What a relief!!! Definitely some extra insurance to protect whatever you have attached to it!!! =)

I bought this item with some doubts (I wondered if it could lift my camera, as the reviews mentioned lighter devices), but I tried it and did the job pretty good. The Lumix DMC-TS2 weights aprox. 190 gr (batteries included), with this you can have a better idea.
Maybe people with small wrists might feel the wrist band a little loose, but it fits good enough to me; I don't think it can come off easily, but if it does I'm sure it will float. The detach button also seems secure.
Plus, I found its color pretty useful to easily spot it in the water (and everywhere else!).

This product is meant for underwater cameras. It is designed to float when submerged, thus preventing your camera from sinking.

This is good for that purpose, but not much else. It is bigger in size than my CX110 HandyCam, and takes up most of the room in my carrying pouch.

With respect to product material quality and comfort though, it is top notch.

Bought this and used it with my new underwater camera and it worked just fine.
The strap did not come off my wrist or my boyfriend's (quite larger wrist)
It stayed afloat and I did not once need to worry about losing my brand new camera!.

Used this Sony strap on a recent snorkeling trip, the strap was the right size and I was assured my camera (DSC-TX30) was safe. A great feature is that it's easily removable by a little clip. Worth the extra money versus other cheaper straps.

We used this extensively on our recent two week vacation, attached to our Sony Cyber-shot DSC-TX20. It worked really well in lakes, swimming holes, while kayaking, etc. It is much larger than it looked to me when I say the pictures on line. It is big enough that the whole camera can snuggle inside the orange part of the strap. Takes some getting used to...but makes it very easy to spot and to grab when you are in the water (BTW: the camera worked great too...I have heard there are challenges when using in salt water...but in clear water it was great).
