With features like double recording time that allows you to record at normal speed or half the normal speed for an extended recording session, and Voice Operated Recording (VOR) to conserve tape, you'll never waste precious recording time.

I purchased this to do reading exercises with children at school. Even with the "Clear Voice Recording" feature, it fails to record well unless I use an outboard microphone.
Sony products have been good to me in the past, but this one does not perform as it should.

At one time "Sony" had a very good reputation for quality products.
This cassette recorder was anything but a quality product (mechanically, everything worked just fine). Sound reproduction was abysmal -- far worse than poor! A very loud "hissss" overrode the recording -- even when I used an external microphone. I did not expect a 4track recorder, but what I got should be an embarrassment to any manufacturer. Shame on you SONY!! PC Taylor
