I bought this item two months ago and find a serious problem with that. When I tried to use it together with my Sony DVD Home Theater which has a wireless surrounding system, it failed to work. I have to either unplug the S-AIR model(which means you will have 3.1 surrounding instead of 5.1) or put my bluetooth devices close enough to the adaptor(which makes Bluetooth meaningless). I tried to swich the channel of the S-AIR but it failed to work. Either the adaptor or the S-AIR model doesn't work.
If your system doesn't have the S-AIR model, this item is perfect to buy. But if your system does include the S-AIR model, you'd better make another choice.

Wow! I love Bluetooth technology and this product is all that you need to stream music wirelessly to my Sony receiver. Set-up took me about 30 seconds to complete and the sound was great. It connected easily with my LG Voyager. all I do is carry my phone anywhere I go and will be able to listen to music in my home or auto, since I also have a Bluetooth Sony receiver for the car. Two complaint I have with this product. $80 is a bit steep for such a little device. Also, I wish when you turn on your receiver, it should connect automatically. But those are minor things, overall it's worth every penny.

This is a great option for integrating streaming audio to my Sony HT-CT100. Yes, it might be a bit pricey for a bluetooth connection, but it is a Sony proprietary connection and it works flawlessly so Im happy with it. Plus it used the DMport on the CT100 which would other wise just be a wasted port.

Setup was simplistic and pairing devices to it was a breeze. It holds up to 8 paired bluetooth components and hasnt given me any issues with the laptops, ipods, itouch, motorola cliq that I have paired and streamed music with.

I was debating this or the TDM-IP1 ipod controller/dock, but felt that the BT1 would be more universal and versatile as it would work with any bluetooth audio device..and I was right. Plus this would give you better control selecting music as you are using the actual device in hand to select, rather than a remote that is controlling a ipod that is docked near your output device.

The cord could be a bit longer, but it is still adequate and that its bluetooth, it does not have to be in line of sight per se, so it still functions as its supposed to. The unit is very small and discrete and the blue LED illumination is non-obtrusive and adds a nice touch.

Overall a great buy, not the cheapest offering out there..but great if you have Sony product that you can use this for the DMport.

I purchased this item to pair with an iPod Touch with 3.0 Update that enabled the Bluetooth chip. Works very good. Very functional, sound quality kills he FM transmitter I was using. If you want to control your music without being connected to the stereo, this product is for you

This was easy to set up and I was streaming music from my Blackberry and/or Dell Axim through my Sony receiver in no time at all. The sound quality was similar to a setting of "super stereo" on the receiver.

Other wireless device can interfere with the signal but if you are not walking around with the handheld while streaming you should not have a problem.

It's not hard when all I had to do is to plug this into a slot in the back that looked like it could fit the plug in. Pressed the function button on theater player till it says dmport and tada, it works. Do I really have to put a review in for such a simple product?

Oh one thing: pay attention and read a little diagram of where on this little device the buttons are. Some people may be clumsy enough to miss the reset button. Some other may not be tech savvy enough to know that holding the reset button without letting go for several seconds may mean a different function :)

I wish I had bought this first! Streaming audio is very high quality. I purchased the Sony iphone dock on the recomendation of Sony customer service after I had already returned the Sony USB player. The Sony iphone dock does not support iphone 3GS. The bluetooth is better anyway it took seconds to pair with the iphone, and works with my laptop(Vista)as well. There is some interference when using the microwave oven if the laptop or phone are near. There is no problem with other bluetooth devices nearby.

Good adapter for receive audio from mobile devices, i have to say, got a MacBook Pro, i stream audio from it, but the quality is just not what i expected from an apple device, besides, with any other device you will get great sound...

I just got the sony TDM-BT1 through Amazon. It was very easy to configure. It sounds terrific. The range from my sony walkman to the blue tooth rceiver is better than expected. I am glad that Sony finally put out a product to enable walkman users to play music digitally though the sony home theater system.

This Blue tooth enabler connects (via Sony proprietary connection) to my 3400ES and connected to my blackberry with ease. The sound quality is superb. This device has enabled me to expand my digital music library to the home. Great for entertaining or casual listening. Could have paid substantially more elsewhere.
