I read many reviews saying that this adapter (UWA-BR100) was hard to configure, had limited range, or performed slowly. Given it was an adapter designed specifically for a Sony TV and I had a Sony 40" HDTV, I decided to buy it anyway. None, I, repeat none of the issues I saw people write about where true. The adapter fits perfectly into a slot in the back of the TV which was obviously made for the physical characteristics of this apdater. Within 5 minutes of plugging it in, it had synched with my home wireless router, and was up and running. My adapter is on the other side of the house, and I experienced no performance issues. My recommendation, if your Sony TV owner's manual specifies this adapter, buy it. All I can figure is that the people complaining are technically challenged, did not have a Sony TV, or would have issues plugging in a microwave oven.

I am very impressed with the product and it works perfectly with my Sony Blu-ray player. Set up was a breeze and intuitive, even a caveman could do it!

Quite frankly, I was very disappointed that Sony did not see fit to include 5 GHz connectivity in their original product. After all, it was already a standard feature in earlier non-3D models. The adapter does take up the one USB port available on the DVD player. The connection speed seem variable, and slows at times to the extent that the program playing stops to accommodate buffering. At this junction, tech support points to the router as the problem, and the router tech support points to the adapter (please note that the router and the adapter are only about 20 feet apart from each other, with no major structural elements or other source of electrical fields between them). This device is merely an okay solution to a manufacturer's oversight or poor planning. The only reason I've rated this as high as three stars is that I can't definitively prove that the ongoing lack of performance is the fault of the device.

I needed this specific adapter for my Sony Blu Ray player. Up till now, I've had to run a long, long cable between my modem and player, but no more. Connection was a cinch and have had no problems. Thank you seller.

The product arrived as advertised. I hate that I bought the only Blu Ray player Sony made without a built in wifi card and that just so happens to only work with this adapter. As for this product though it has been working for me for months now and no problems. Installed just fine. Thanks!

I haven't bought it yet, but to let everyone know, that Sony has discontinuted it and selling its remaining stock for $39.99 each, they have slashed the price in half. I wouldn't recommend paying the full price if Sony is selling it cheaper, fyi! Just go to Sony.com and you will see, the only catch is that you can't place the order online, you have to call them to place the order. I hope this helps and save you money.

Had to buy this for our Sony Blu Ray player when it's ethernet port went out. Unfortunately this is the ONLY WiFi adapter what will work with this Blu Ray player. And this seller wants a ridiculous amount of cash for a simple WiFi adapter!

The WiFi adapter worked fine for a while, but now just loses signal even with the WiFi access point just a few feet away.

Not buying another one to replace it, it's half the price to buy a Roku box.

The Sony streaming software, DVD playback issues, incompatibility with other WiFi cards, etc. - no more Sony for us.

Had to purchase this specifically for the SONY 40 HDTV LED, it was hard to configure, had a very limited range and performed slowly. Why Sony didn't build 5 GHz connectivity in their original product is a good question, seeing you have to find this Wi-Fi Network Adapter (not available in local electronic stores) and then spend a pretty penny. It was slow in streaming video yet a computer with Wi-Fi capability sitting next to this Network Adapter had no problem streaming the same video.

I bought this item to compliment a Sony disc, blue ray player that I had purchased to receive a wireless way to stream movies (Wi-Fi capability). So far, I just get a non-compatible warning on the screen but I haven't contacted Sony because this is the product they recommended..
