4.0 out of 5 stars So far so good.
I know it's pricey. So said every review I read. But I wanted one because I wanted to :
1. Edit HD/blu-ray video and the computer I had was way too slow. And didn't burn Blu-ray.
2. Needed a decent and good-looking all-in-one computer to put in my kitchen with big enough screen to watch movies, play music and do some work as well.

This review is from: Sony VAIO VGC-RT150Y 25.5-Inch All-in-One Desktop PC (2.66 GHz Intel Core 2 Quad Q9400 Processor, 8 GB RAM, 1 TB Hard Drive, Blu-ray Drive, Vista Ultimate) Black (Personal Computers)
3. All in one without sacrificing power too much.

I probably could've configured a box type PC with less money but the ones I looked at looked like 'gamers' machine.

By the time I added enough memory and processor stuff, the cost was just as high and didn't look that good.

At first, I bought HP's touchsmart but I returned it. Even though that was ok and pretty, the way the machine was designed, it tilted up a bit and couldn't adjust the screen. After about 2 weeks' use, I said no to it.

So this came along after another painful search. This is much sleeker than Touchsmart. Unlike TouchSmart, this is all business and no frill. But I couldn't care less about cute background anyway.

Setup couldn't be simpler. Just take it out of the box. Attach a power cord, plug it in, turn it on.
It came with 8G RAM and all the bells and whistles. I'm not a gamer so I can't tell you about the performance under that type of use. I use Corel Video Studio and works quite well. I don't have to wait too long for it to come up. It may take a second or two...from the start to splash screen.
Playback is smooth, too. It's such a pleasure to watch the finished works on Blue-ray.

Oh, the sound that comes out of this is really great. We used this instead of our regular stereo during the holiday get together to play all holiday songs. We just ran iTune.

Problem so far: once in a while when I leave it on for a while and come back, mouse or keyboard doesn't respond. No other way to reactivate other than to turn it off and on...possibly other way to restart when it's frozen? If you know another way, please let me know...I haven't found it yet.
Also the keyboard reaction gets sluggish at time. I could be typing away, but nothing is showing up on the screen. I'm not sure what causes that.

Another problem is that you get so used (or spoiled) to the snappy performance of this machine so fast that when I use my other slower machines, I'm getting very frustrated.

I was also concerned about the 64-bit part. I've heard some problems that could cause but so far no problems. Connected to my Wi-Fi network, connected to my Wi-Fi printer without a hitch.

Other than that, it's been fun.

UPDATE: 10/28/10
It has been about 2 years since I bought this and still going strong.
I still get the occasional 'frozen' mouse and keyboard when it comes back from inactive mode. But other than that, it's going great.
This machine has been moved up to my main computer. I use RDP and dameware to access all my other machines including my iMac in the kitchen.
I really love the all-in-one!

UPDATE: 12/15/11
It's still working....odd thing to say to something that cost this much but lately you can't always depend on the products.
I did get the rootkit virus once so I had to call the Sony support to help me get the data into my external hard drive. Sony products are fine but the support I called was pretty useless. for 40 USD, all I was which function button to use.
As for the machine, there is some kind of a flaw in the keyboard/mouse communication to the machine. After a while, mouse would stop moving and keyboard stops responding. So I just bought another wireless keyboard and a cheap USB mouse. It works fine now.

I use this machine to do a lot of photo processing using Lightroom 64 bit and movie editing and this machine still works great.
Hopefully this will be with me long enough to get my money's worth.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing, June 4, 2010

This review is from: Sony VAIO VGC-RT150Y 25.5-Inch All-in-One Desktop PC (2.66 GHz Intel Core 2 Quad Q9400 Processor, 8 GB RAM, 1 TB Hard Drive, Blu-ray Drive, Vista Ultimate) Black (Personal Computers)
I purchased my VGC-RT150Y about 18 months ago and its still running strong. I was looking for a compact computer so I didn't have to store a giant tower in a cabinet in my office, but it needed to have enough power to do video editing. This thing is a power plant. With 8GB RAM and quad core processor, there is nothign that this thing can't do. I lvoe the design, and that it can easily be used as a TV. My only complaint is I thought I was getting a terabite of memory, but when I read the specs closer, its actually two 500GB RAID drives, which is great if you are worried about loosing your data, but I use a NAS with RAID so I would have preferred the extra hard drive space then the RAID. I used to complain about Sony's software, but it seems to have gotten better and I dont' mind their add ons this time around. If you can stomach the price, this thing is amazing. If mine broke, I would run out and buy another one tomorrow.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sweet Machine, Sweet Deal !, September 3, 2009
This review is from: Sony VAIO VGC-RT150Y 25.5-Inch All-in-One Desktop PC (2.66 GHz Intel Core 2 Quad Q9400 Processor, 8 GB RAM, 1 TB Hard Drive, Blu-ray Drive, Vista Ultimate) Black (Personal Computers)
I'll be brief, no need for a pedantic interlude. Bought this 8/18/09 at a retail Sony Style Store. It was marked down from $3999 to $3399. The manager offered an additional $300 discount to $3099 with cash, needless to say I jumped on it. This monster AIO is not for the faint of heart or wallet. By spec comparison it makes any apple AIO appear anemic and they'll never have Blu-Ray ! It has a cool factor beyond measure. I've owned nothing but Sony Vaio PC's for good reason, this is my fourth unit and first AIO. The Blu-Ray and DVD images and HD sound are just spectacular on the 25.5" HD screen with no motion issues whatsoever. As a PC and multimedia machine it's the cats meow! The quad processor speed is simply blazing. Several years ago (1999) when I bought my first VAIO desktop I thought that Sony had outdone itself, au contraire, this AIO is a PC for the new millennium. Sony VAIO & AIO, Hmmm, did they see it coming ? I also purchased a Sony Bravia KDL-46XBR8 LED TV from the same store and he was agreeable to price match with the "Home Theatre Store" at a wopping $1400 discount to $2299 from $3699, economic times have indeed changed.

Pros: Read the Specs
Cons: The keyboard and mouse are a little cheesy, get it ?
