Vaio's Rock.,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Sony VAIO VGN-CS160J/Q 14.1-Inch Laptop (2.0 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo T5800 Processor, 4 GB RAM, 250 GB Hard Drive, Blu-ray Drive, Vista Premium) Black (Personal Computers)
I got this laptop during a black friday sale, so i got an amazing deal on it. Otherwise, i'm not sure i would buy it for the MSRP. But Vaios have always been a little more expensive than most laptops. It's a nice size and looks really sleek. There's a bunch of really cool LEDs that light up whenever you use any of the media control buttons or open/close the laptop. Although i have to admit, it is a bit on the heavy side for a 14". The fan can also be very noisy at times. Like, to the point where it wakes me up in the middle of the night. The shiny black finish is a fingerprint magnet. And i'm not sure that the blu-ray drive is worth it, since this laptop doesn't even have an HDMI out. It is a nice feature to have though.
Don't get me wrong, this is still a great laptop. Lots of power (4GB), plenty of hard drive space for me (250GB), and despite the weight, still portable enough for me to carry back and forth to school. And from my experience, Sony makes great quality products, including computers. I have an 8 year old Vaio desktop that still works and has never given me any problems. With Sony, you get what you pay for.

Price may be low compared to a SONY price but I may prefer to get a HP or Acer at even lower price next time. I was intrigued to buy this one because of the built in Blue Ray, but can you believe they didn't equip it with HDMI output. Really a disappointment. SONY is not a thoughtful company from this small detail. I think they lose their touch already.
