5.0 out of 5 stars USB Micro Vault Timy
This is a great jump drive at a great price. The size is currently unbeatable and the capacity, 8GB, is reasonably current. I have owned three of these and have experienced minor operational problems with each. I do not know if they are hardware failures and/or Windows/XP 'Safely Remove' errors but in all cases were fixable via chkdsk (Some data was lost in each case, bur...

3.0 out of 5 stars Not working with PS3...
Got this for $26 at Frys. Works great with PC. But PS3 isn't reading it. "An Unknown USB device has been connected". And I can't even format it. THough it is FAT32 already, so that shouldn't be a problem...

This is a great jump drive at a great price. The size is currently unbeatable and the capacity, 8GB, is reasonably current. I have owned three of these and have experienced minor operational problems with each. I do not know if they are hardware failures and/or Windows/XP 'Safely Remove' errors but in all cases were fixable via chkdsk (Some data was lost in each case, bur since this was being used for backup, the original was still there). The errors may also be related to the Belkin hub I use them in since it tends to run hot. At any rate, I have owned several sizes (capacties) and will probably continue to upgrade as larger capacities become available. One additional note - the supplied compression software has not been of any appreciable benefit since the compressed file sizes did not shrink, on average, below 90% vs. the 50% to 66% claimed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Little faster than my other USB thumb drives, March 13, 2009

Worked flawlessly, and it was definately faster at hugh file transfers than my other USB thumb drives. It did not have drive encryption like Verbatum thumb drives, but open source TrueCrypt can easily add encryption for free. Encryption is important because such a small drive is easy to loose.

I use the Sony Micro Vault Tiny with my MusicPad Pro Freehand MusicPad Pro Plus Version 4.0 Electronic Sheet Music Display. Not all USB drives work well with the MusicPad Pro, but the Sony Micro Vault works every time; I write and rewrite to the Micro Vault Tiny almost every day, and it works without fail.

5.0 out of 5 stars perfect for BluRay players that require add-on memory, November 16, 2008

My Sony BluRay model 350 requires you to add additional memory if you want to use some of the features like BonusView.
Conventional USB memory thumbdrives stick way out the back of the Sony unit if you use them, but this one's small size is perfect for the player.

Great for anywhere you don't want your USB thumbdrive memory sticking out and getting damaged.
