When it comes to quality, it's difficult to beat a Sony Walkman. This lightweight radio cassette player from packs several impressive features. Whether you plan on jamming to loud music or listening to your favorite talk show, this Sony Walkman can tune in a wide variety of audio options.

It isn't uncommon for portable cassette players to also feature AM/FM radio reception. However, this Sony unit contains an unusual extra: TV sound from broadcast channels 2 to 13. This is a great way to catch your favorite soap opera, sports broadcast, or sitcom while on the go. Of course, this Walkman also plays audiocassettes. The unit comes with a durable pair of headphones, which we found to be a bit bulkier than some of the lightweight ones found on other models. Still, the headphones were a comfortable fit and delivered excellent sound.

If you plan to listen to music that relies on a heavy beat, such as hip-hop or dance music, then you'll appreciate Sony's optional Mega Bass mode, which delivers rich bass enhancement. There is also a loud and proud Groove mode, which further enriches the bass. With all this powerful audio, Sony has wisely included hearing-protection technology, known as Automatic Volume Limiter System. This optional feature allows you to limit the maximum volume coming from the headphones. Other extras include 20-station preset tuning, auto reverse, and a built-in clock.

I have had this product since the 90's. I have dropped it, drug it and just abused it. All the buttons are gone and the cassette part doesn't even close. This thing gets excellent reception anywhere, AM, FM and TV. The only reason that I am replacing it is because it needs to retire. It STILL works just as good as the day I purchased it 10 years ago.
