I received this little Walkman as a holiday present and it is just fabulous! I'm a latecomer to the MP3 market, having been reluctant to get caught up in loading music (after all, we all know what "timesavers" digital cameras are). When I saw this device come on the market, I was strongly tempted and am I glad I was. My 11-year old got the device up and running (that is, nearly fully loaded with my favorite albums) using MS Windows Media Player, and then taught me how to do it in a matter of minutes. I've currently got about 350 songs on it with room for half as many I would estimate. It's got great battery life. The earbuds represent Sony's high quality sound. I particularly like the metallic red color. I haven't yet tried the other features, but I'm optimistic about their ease of use. Now my son is agitating to upgrade his Zen player.

I purchased this little gem about 2 months ago instead of an IPOD, because it had the FM receiver option. I have never owned or operated an MP3 player before, but I found this one to be extremely user-friendly. To load your music, you simply connect it to the Windows Media Player (software disk is included0, then just drag and drop your music files. The battery life is unbelievably long -I've charged it maybe, twice? And it is soooo cute! The only thing I think they could have added is a "sleep" function that would turn it off after awhile. Other than that I love it!

We got one of these for each of our boys, because we like be fair like that. I wanted to get them these because if they got lost or broken, we would not be out a lot of $$. Also, since we had more traveling planned, we wanted them to be able to listen to something different than everyone else, if they wanted. They have had them for about a year and they haven't lost or broken them yet, so it seems like it has been a good test of their responsibility. I also like to get the same thing for everyone as that helps me with keeping the number of different tech items I need to support managable. We got a red one and a black one so we could tell them apart.

I bought the pink Sony 2GB MP3 Player for myself a couple of months ago. My husband had previously bought a junky little 1GB GPX player which he thought was great until he saw mine. After week upon week of his verbally envying MY player, I went ahead and ordered him the red Sony. Too bad we were out the $30 for his old player, but to him it was well worth it. He's as happy with his as I am with mine. Nice size, not too big, not too small, clear picture, lots of fun options, and my husband loves the FM radio option. We both keep our music in mp3 format, and when we "shuffle" music to the player, we get between 450 and 500 songs depending on the length. I don't really see why you'd need more, as taking songs off and putting new on is a snap. We usually change our playlist every couple of weeks. Excellent player for the value!

I reviewed several MP3 players before purchasing, perfect for a 10yrs old. Great price for value!

I debated between this and the actual I-Pod as wll as a few others. The features on this for the money don't even compare with many. I bought this for my 14 year old and wanted something fairly simple for him to be able to operate, as I didn't want to constanlty be doing it for him. Within an hour of opening it Christmas he had songs and videos on it and was showing it off. I totally recommned this product!!

I ordered the Sony 2 GB Walkman for my 16 year old who wanted an Ipod for Christmas. After I gave her the Walkman I have yet to see it leave her ears. She loves it. She's downloaded her favorite songs and pixs and we're working on learning how to input video. I'm quite pleased with this product so far. Thanks Sony!

We bought one of these for my son last Christmas, and by the summer, it was not working. It would start a charge and then stop, and the computer wouldn't recognize it any more. Sony tech support diagnosed it as a hardware issue after about an hour on the phone. I called about the "limited warantee" (labor & parts for 90 days, parts only for 1 year). I found out that they would indeed honor the warantee, but the "labor" was $78, and I had to pay the shipping. So, it turns out that the "warantee" had me paying as much for "labor" as for a new Walkman!!! Beware - the warantee is really only for 90 days, realistically. I told them that before I'd pay $78, I could get a new one, and not have to wait for shipping.

I got it because I like to walk and it work fine for me. It's easy to work and whole up a lot of music.

Sony hit the mark with this MP3 player. It is top quality, the sound is excellent, downloading is a breeze, the touchpad is extremely easy to use, it turns on in a flash, and the screen quality is the absolute best. I have used the red 2GB model for one month now and couldn't be more pleased. I own several other MP3 players, in the same price range, and nothing comes close to the quality and feel of this Sony MP3 player. I would highly recommend it to anyone wanting a great MP3 player that doesn't cost too much.
