This unit works flawlessly with my Droid Bionic. It's nice to see more manufacturers taking the Android wave more seriously with proper support for this device. I have test the bluetooth with several calls, streaming of mp3s from the phone and interacting with Pandora. Every single thing went off without a hitch. Voice dialing is easy, and even corrected me when I did it wrong the first time.

If you have a newer Android device. this unit will not disappoint and is much less than an AppRadio by Pioneer.

I purchased this as an upgrade to the factory radio in my girlfriend's car, along with new speakers and an 8" self powered subwoofer.

This is my first experience with a touchscreen radio, and I really feel Sony missed the mark on this one, almost all around.

First, the touch screen itself is easy enough to use, even with gloves in the winter time. However, the on-screen buttons along the edges can take two or more tries, and doesn't feel natural.

Second, the sound quality is just off. It's hard to explain, and I've worked with my fair share of car and home audio systems. For some reason, I just can't find the sweet spot in this player's settings. The location setting (driver, passenger, all, etc) definitely works, but the sound never seems to fill the entire car. In the "all" setting, you definitely hear it behind and to the right of you, but in the "front left" location, you lose that behind and to the right feel, but the sound still doesn't seem full... it's tough to describe. The graphic equalizer is nice, and there are some pre-set arrangements, but they are all fairly poor sounding. For whatever reason, every song sounds like you need to re-adjust the settings again, which gets annoying. Simply put, nothing ever really sounds right.

The iPod control is nice, but quirky. There are two control options: on screen, or iPod. The direct iPod control is what works best, since the interface is obviously familiar and quick to use. The only downside is you don't get the information on screen; instead you see "passenger control mode" or something on the screen. The on screen shows album artwork and info which is nice, but changing songs is HORRIFICALLY painful, especially since it distracts from keeping your eyes on the road.

This unit has all of the capabilities that I was looking for at a great price, but it underwhelms in each area. Surprisingly, the sound quality was a downgrade from my factory Ford stereo. I am a mobile and home theater fanatic, and am not new to adjusting settings, but I cannot optimize the ones on this unit. The satellite radio display is very poor, displaying only 8 characters at a time. Lastly, my bluetooth calling feature is awesome. The clarity is in a whole 'nother league than my wife's Kenwood.

Just installed this unit today. It's BT paired with an Iphone5. The touchscreen is vivid, clear and fast. The unit performs BT, DvD playback, phonecalls, radio, music discs and all functions, features and adjustments well. The sound quality is nothing short of awesome. Clarity is through the roof. I hear stuff in songs that I've never heard before. So again, this unit has extremely clear sound and screen. In this price range or class, I'm certain it's the best. Speaking of which, if you can get one, factory sealed (NIB), for $280.00 or less, go for it, as you won't be dissappointed at all. Matter of fact, odds are, it'll exceed your expectations, as it did mine.

Okay, the negatives or challenges. Some mentioned the USB. I don't really have a need for the aux or the USB, however, I tested them, just to make sure they were working. Upon doing so, I found that when USB connected, the volume couldn't be adjusted. Also found the USB cover port to be kinda' flimsy and a bit of work to open and close. As mentioned earlier, it's not an issue for me b/c I don't have a need for the USB or the aux b/c of bluetooth, so I won't be using them anyway. The next issue was voice dialing. The unit prompts for the name of the person you'd like to call, then Siri (iphone voice recognition and assistant) appears and it goes downhill from there. So far, when voice dialing, the best it can do is to pull up multiple guesses from my contact list on my phone. Perhaps the voice dial feature or Siri can't hear or interpret? Will call Sony suppport and go from there. The unit mic is working cause' I can see the levels when I talk or even tap the mic. It's very sensitive. It has low, med and high mic (gain) settings, but med is all I needed on the call I made to test it out.

Sony has been my go to brand for many years now but at times I have felt pretty let down by some of their products. I installed a Sony digital receiver in my car a year and a half ago and the sound was not great and the control knob was horrible. The XAV-64BT has more than renewed my faith in Sony products. The screen looks great and the interface is easy to navigate. The sound quality really brings out the best in my system. I am a little bummed that the remote and video cable for the ipod are sold separately but it certainly shouldn't be a deal breaker. Overall impression so far... Very happy.
