Buyer Beware,

This review is from: Sony XL5300 Replacement Lamp for XBR2 SXRD Rear Projection Television (Personal Computers)
I ordered this lamp for my uncle ... should have been simple but it wasn't. The part number is right, the picture on the web site is right, product showed up and it wasn't even close. Emailed and Called ... took a week to get in touch with someone for a return. Told them it was the wrong one, they sent a new one ... different for sure but still not the right bulb. Finally got a refund so that I can hire a local TV repair company to come out with the right part and get the darn tv fixed. Don't order replacement bulbs on line ... pay the extra $75 for a local service call so that someone else gets to deal with the headache of the right parts. This 'simple' lamp replacement cost me two days worth of on the phone, on the email, verifying part numbers and etc. What a waste!!!

Sony Replacement Bulb,
This review is from: Sony XL5300 Replacement Lamp for XBR2 SXRD Rear Projection Television (Personal Computers)
Ordered this bulb through my son's account and replacement was easy, problem was it only lasted 7 days before it blew out. Looked almost exactly the same as original but worked poorly. Did a lot of research and found most replacement bulbs are of inferior quality and can be sold for less with warranty to replace once. Phillips is the actual manufacturer of the Sony bulb and it can be found for about $120 with a full 180 day warranty to replace if it fails. Spend the extra $30-60 and don't waste time with the inferior quality of most of the others. Sony sells the same Phillips bulb for $299 but you can find it at a couple of other sites for about $120.

This is a replacement lamp for the Sony rear-projection television. It works great. Installation was easy.
