Amazing sound quality!!! this speakers actually made me start enjoying my car ride again without listening to my Ipod via earphones. (2 pairs of this ones on a VW Beetle) Very loud, nice lows and ripping high frequencies. My cousing has a new 08 Civic and told me he still can't believe a Beetle can sound that way. It actually made him realize his sound system sucks. Go for it!!

These speakers have great sound, and are priced very nicely. I just received these speakers yesterday, and I have already installed them. I did a sound test on them, and the woofers produce enough thump for me while keeping the sound from being distorted. If you purchase these you will not be let down.

I just got a pair of these Sony XS-R1642 speakers and put them in the front doors on my Honda Accord. They are really nice speakers. The sound is crystal clear with nice bass response. I'm very happy with them. These Sony Xplod components are nice. I've got a pair of 6x9's in the back and they rock too. Together I'm hearing really clear crisp sound with outstanding bass.

I replaced the old speakers in my Honda for these and they sound great for the price. Easy to install. Comes with all the necessary hardware. I don't feel the need to crank my music super loud, but I guess I could now if I wanted to.

These speakers are worth the money. If your on the fence just read this review for that little nudge.

First, these speakers are primarily for my wifes new car which all the speakers were blown. These 6.5" speakers were going in the front door with the intention of not getting subs. I have a basic pioneer deck 52X4 watt deck. Nothing fancy again for the wife.

Install was kind of a pain in my 99 Isuzu rodeo. It came with about 6 spots where the screws could go, so I had to use a metal saw to cut off the extra tabs and get the speakers to seat just right. Wiring was easy except for one minor detail. I had to get wire crimpers to splice in the old wires and cut off the OEM connector. You will most likely have to do the same but the wire crimpers ARE NOT INCLUDED in the box. Run to the auto store to grab a box of them for 2 bucks.

Once they are in...just wow. The tweeters scream and the mids and lows are awesome. On all types of music these speakers are great. You have awesome tones in all ranges, and you can make out the different sounds crystal clear. If your looking for a replacement speaker but don't want to go all out with a system, get these bad boys.

Pros - Cost for quality cant be beat!
Sound is amazing!
Got enough kick even for soccer moms!

Cons - Install a slight pain (definately different vehicle to vehicle).
Missing wire crimpers.
The screws that came with it werent self tapping....again another pet peeve.

These speakers were easy to install and had everything I needed to do it, minus the tools. :) They had plenty of holes and I was able to match them up on both the vehicles I bought them for which eliminated the need to drill new ones. I would suggest however you have enough power to drive them to their full capacity. When I crank them I know that my radio just doesn't have the amperage to get the full sound they could produce. I would buy them again as they are much better than OEM speakers.

I have a 1999 Honda Civic EX Sedan and these speakers sound great! My back pair are my bass providers and my front act more as tweeters. These are my front speakers and I'm going to buy the same kind for my back pair (6x9)

I advise paying a little extra to get these installed by a professional. I went ahead and installed it myself with a new CD deck... bad decision. It ended up that my right speaker doesn't work and I don't know how to fix it! So just save yourself the headache and pay someone to do it. It is worth it. These Sony XSGTX1640 6.5-Inch Coaxial 4-Way speakers are great for the price !

Replaced my stock door speakers with these. Stock sound was very muffled and now its crisp and clear. These were definitely worth the money.

I bought these to go in the back seat of my extended cab p/u truck. I paid $50 for these and $80 for my infinity kappas that I have up front. If I had it to do over I think I would have bought a second set of kappas. I wanted to save a few dollars and I wanted to compare what many people said were top of the line (kappas) to something more run of the mill. They do sound great compared to the OEM, but the kappas are still crisper and clearer. The kappas also came with crossovers, these do not. If you want a great sounding, budget sensitive alternative to your oem paper speakers these will work. If you want something a notch above go with a set of infinity kappas. (Of note, even with the 2 kappas and the 2 sonys, and a 4 channel (50 watts/channel) alpine amp, keeping my oem head unit still doesn't compare with the bose stereo/6-speaker set I had in my old SUV.)

I installed these speakers in my 06 murano and i connected them to the 4ch amp that I've installed in my car, they sound crystal clear and loud.
even though i am not really big fan of Sony explode, but i tell you this, these speakers really made me surprise.
