5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent product.
The Sony Xplod XSLB10S subwoofer packs a lot of punch. I have a Sony stereo hooked up to a Dual 300 watt amp on crossover and maxed on power with this Sub and it hits hard in my 99 Ranger reg cab. I've had several years of experience in audio and electronics and can't believe this got bad reviews.

For bad reviews on this product, its probably for manufacturer...

3.0 out of 5 stars its ok
This sub is ok, it bumps when the music calls for it but otherwise its just ok. This is ment more for an extended cab or four door pickup truck, I just have a two door regular cab so this thing gets kind of choked by my bench seat.

For bad reviews on this product, its probably for manufacturer defects which is normal for any electronic device, it happens, or its because people are looking for a sub that you can hear from 4 blocks away. It's not just the Sub that has the power its the whole system, from the stereo to the amp and possibly wiring. This sub with my 300 watt amp can be heard at half volume on the stereo from inside the house which is a few hundred feet away. It's still pretty powerful for a slimline woofer. I've tested it with Bass Mechanic tuning tracks and almost every genre of music.

I'm fully satisfied with this product and highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a great slim subwoofer with a lot of power.

I purchased the XS-LB10S and the XM-1S with a Sony GT81UW head unit, thats right sony all the way hoping to reduce any problems and make sure all synced well. The sub performed well, sq was good but died 3 weeks after install. Im told it blowed and submitting it on warranty, but the amp is 290rms and the sub is rated for 330 rms - it should have never happened.

Looking at the reviews on the net now, the only 2 reviews I have found on crutchfield and sonicelectronix indicate premature problems as well. I dont intend to keep this sub, Im going with a ED SQ10 instead, cheaper and better performing.

Sony - you disappointed me.

2.0 out of 5 stars Poor Quality, March 11, 2011

1. Shipping Great!

2. Poor sound due to the voice coil not being a complete circle, you can hear the scraping at very low volumes... give it a buzzing noise that took me 2 days to find, thinking it was my other speakers.

3. Returns... HORRIBLE!!! I contacted Amazon, and they told me that I could get a refund but not a exchange. If I just wanted the money I would not have bought it. I just needed them to exchange it, and that was like pulling live dinosaur teeth.

Final Anallise: AVOID AT ALL COST!

5.0 out of 5 stars great sub!, February 16, 2011

Been using this subwoofer for at least one year.
For the bad reviews you must know that this sub is rated for 330 watts RMS not 1200
1200 however is the MAX. Meaning if there is for some reason a bass hits well above 300 watts the subwoofer will not pop burn or blow out.
When this sub is used at its proper wattage is is a VERY RELIABLE Subwoofer.
I would recommend a 1000-1800 watt amp, Because most of those amps at that wattage will put out 500 at 4ohms.

i bought this sub to enhance the sound in my Jeep which lacks in the audio quality department being a Jeep. it fits perfectly in the rear and i can still take it out very easily if i do not screw it in. perfect amount of bass of the size of a Jeep, and does not sound all fuzzy which i know some subs do

1.0 out of 5 stars Owned 3 of these, December 11, 2009

That's right, I owned 3 of these, not at once, but one after the other. Each of them lasted about a week. 1200, 0r 1000 watts or whatever it says is a dead lie, and it won't even handle the load it's meant to have at a much lower level. It has to be turned up singnificantly to even hear it, and is made poorly. The funny thing is the sub just stops working. Tried it on several amps, and even went to my audio tech nearby who tried it on multiple amps, and opened other boxes of it, and it failed after a few minutes and just stopped working, don't buy this. Save the headache. You will be returning one every week to get another. I bought it when it was $180 and I wouldn't buy it if it was $10.
