By connecting an iPod using the included cable, you can listen to all your favorite iPod tunes on your car speakers. Once connected, the iPod will turn on, and it'll resume where you last left off. Enjoy full control of the iPod from the CDX-GT820IP, and while the car is on, your iPod will get a charge, so it'll be ready to go when you're back on foot.
CD/MP3/WMA/AAC Playback
In addition to CDs, enjoy playback of MP3, WMA, and AAC audio files burned to CD, with ID3 tag support--title, artist and album info will be scrolled across the display.
45 Degree Install
Features a 45 degree maximum mounting angle, allowing them to be used in virtually any custom or unusual installation.
Front Panel Aux In
The auxiliary input is built right in to the face of the head unit, so to use external devices like MP3 players, all you need to do is plug-n-play.
Ready for SAT and HD Radio
Using separate Sony adapters you can add an HD radio tuner, or add Satellite Radio for a wealth of channels of music, news, talk shows, sports and traffic information with CD quality sound.
AM/FM Radio
Always have your favorite stations at hand with 18 FM and 12 AM presets.
Best Tuning Memory
Setting your radio presets can be a real pain while you're driving--especially if you're in an unfamiliar area. So, let the tuner do the work for you by activating the Best Tuning Memory (BTM) function. The tuner will seek out up to 18 of the strongest stations in the area and set them into the tuner presets.
Sound Performer
The CDX-GT820IP features a 24-Bit D/A converter, which oversamples the digital signal, creating a more natural sound and better imaging.
Dial in your sound using Sony's EQ3 parametric equalization, with 7 presets offering a wide variety of solutions, or make individual Low/Mid/High adjustments.
Need more power? Use the front, rear and subwoofer preamp outputs for use with external amplification.
Wireless Remote
Included is an ergonomic remote to be used while watching the road.

Almost perfect,

This review is from: Sony Xplod CDXGT820IP GT Series Head Unit (Electronics)
I got the head unit and it works almost perfectly with my iPhone. Browse speed is super fast, just like you're on the iPhone. I'll list my complaints (minor), but I recommend this head unit to anyone who has an iPhone or iPod touch.
1. It's hard to see the LED during the day. The sun shines on it and everything is dimmed out, it's perfect at night. 2. If you're on the phone before you connect the iPhone, the music will play through the bluetooth. 3. Sometimes I get a no ipod connected message. Doesn't happen often and removing and replacing the phone fixes it. Like the title says, almost perfect, and definitely worth the price. Edit: It also charges the phone as well, great bonus!

Great Sound, easy to work, looks great, but not all iPods are compatible. Make sure your iPod is compatible before you buy!!!! I have the new nano ( 4th Gen.) and guess what.... Not compatible!

Great sound; Ipod input awkward,

The sound is great; it's powerful and crisp. (With the note, I am not any super audiophile and this is with the car's factory speakers). Radio reception is very good also. The CD changer is "behind" the swing-door faceplate, which gives more space on the faceplate. The radio memory buttons (1-6) are very tiny compared to most radios. Two factors to think about. (1) The pop-off faceplate is easy to pop off but I find it pretty awkward to hook back on. (2) There is direct IPOD input, but the IPOD interface is pretty awkward. Think about going through 100 albums or 1000 songs, punching the "forward" key one at a time! And it takes a while for the Sony to display each new album name or track name (like 1/2 second). I bought this for the ipod direct input, but it turned out, manipulating the IPOD through the SONY is awkward and I tend to use the IPOD just with a short auxiliary sound cable. If you were listening to something like book-on-tape via IPOD the fact it is plugged in and charging might be worthwhile. If these two factors are not a concern for you, you'll be happy.
