This item is ok. I am able to plug my phone into my car to play music but the sound quality isn't great. If you push the plug in too far, sound only comes out of one speaker. You have to pull it back out a bit for steareo sound. I am using this for my Sony Ericsson W518a. I didn't find many options when I was shopping so worth the few bucks I paid for it.

The wife and I finally upgraded our AT&T cell phone service after six years and got two free Sony Ericsson W518a phones. We don't care too much about texting and web surfing on our phones but thought the MP3 player was a nice feature. Considering the phone package didn't come with the hands free head set we decided to order this adapter to use with the stereo head sets we have for our computers. This jack is NOT stereo. It is fully connected seated and only one side of the head set can be heard. To send it back would be more of a hassle and expense than this hunk of junk is worth! Don't waist your money. I'm also not very pleased with Sony Ericsson either, but that for a different review.

I got this adapter to be able to use normal headphones with my Sony Ericsson W705a. The connection is as secure as any Sony adapter, and the sound via this connection is clear and static free. My only complaint is that when a headphone jack is pushed all the way into female end of the adapter, I lose sound in the left channel. But this can be worked around by backing off the plug slighty. Overal, for ~$5 its a good value. Time will tell how it holds up.

The original item was defective. Upon receiving a replacement that I had no idea was coming, I am pleased. Though the fist piece arrived later than promised, I am pleaseed that the replacement works and was totally unexpected. Thank you very much.

It came in 3 days earlier than expected. I got it so i could hook up my sony ericsson w760a to the car so i won't have to use my ipod or cds and just use that as an mp3 player and it works great. If there is an incoming call it will stop the music and you have to disconnect the adapter from the phone. It does not charge your phone when it is plugged in. Other than that it serves it's purpose.

This headset adapter works pretty well. Just plug it in (after the phone has turned on) and all your sounds will go through the headset. If you just want to use the phone as an MP3 player, it works just fine with any 3.5mm headphones/earphones/earbuds. Both ends are pretty firm so it won't fall out of the phone or the headphone jack. Something I tested just for the novelty was using a splitter. While it may have just been the splitter I used, the audio quality was a lot worse and there was static. I doubt many people will use that though. I didn't test out an actual headset on the adapter, so I can't say if there was any problem with the outgoing sound quality. But overall, seems to work well and if you see yourself using headphones/headsets often, it's worth the price.

A couple things that I have found to be a problem with this accessory are as follows:

#1 I have found that sometimes the metal contacts on the cable do not connect properly to the phone. Not sure if this is internal or not, but unplugging and replugging usually solves the problem.

#2 The cable feels very thin and fragile. Makes me concerned whether or not the cable with eventually snap.

Other than these two things the accessory works well.

No problem, works fine. My problem is I simply forgot that this adapter is for
listening ONLY. You can't talk on the cell phone with it. It's not a hands free device.

This connects my Sony Ericsson phone with my car, and now I can rock and use the phone... nice little thingee.

Nothing real special about this one other than the fact that it works as it should! I did however receive it earlier than expected! That was a plus.
