5.0 out of 5 stars An amazing book by an amazing lady

I loved watching this show on Animal Planet and figured she had to be legitimate since I like Animal Planet.
I had a problem with two of my female dogs fighting. I mean these were terrible attacks that required stitches and vet care. I really didn't want to rehome one of my dogs and thought perhaps Sonya could help me. Well the first thing she said was that my...

5.0 out of 5 stars An amazing book by an amazing lady, April 24, 2003
This review is from: Sonya Fitzpatrick, the Pet Psychic: What the Animals Tell Me (Hardcover)
After reading prior negative feedback on this book, I was compelled to write this review. Are Sonja's powers real? Judge for yourself. I went to her seminar in Long Beach, California, concerned because my 9yr old red-tail boa had not eaten in almost 10 months. She was losing weight and two vets had no idea or solution to the problem, but both were approaching concern about malnutrition. I was lucky enough to be one of the people invited on the stage at Sonja's seminar to ask my question. Sonja's tuned in and after a moment simply said "Have you been doing major renovations in your house where you have moved her from her usual room to another room - because she said she doesn't like that at all? And have you changed the color of the floor - she said it used to be blue and really wants to have that back if possible?". Indeed, 10 months prior, we completely renovated our kitchen and moved our boa and her enclosure into the living room. The original tile in the kitchen was blue/grey and is now cream. Even though the kitchen was finished, we never thought to move her enclosure back into the kitchen. I asked Sonja "if we move her back immediately, will she start eating again". The answer was a simple "yes".

That night we arrived home, moved the enclosure back into the kitchen and fed our boa her usual jumbo rat. After refusing to eat every two weeks for 10 months, she ate it immediately.

For you skeptics out there, that's a tough one to explain away... Regardless, our problem was solved - a problem two vets were unable to solve.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fascinating read- but not for everyone, April 5, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Sonya Fitzpatrick, the Pet Psychic: What the Animals Tell Me (Hardcover)
Sonja Fitzpatrick's book is likely to be a fascinating read for people who: 1.) Are animal lovers. 2.) Enjoy wathching "The Pet Psychic" show on Animal Planet. 3.) Are at least somewhat open to the legitimacy of interspeces communication. If reading about paranormal phenomena causes you to become insulted, disturbed, offended, or hypertensive, this book is not for you.

I found this to be a book of interesting contrasts. There are mind-boggling tales of psychic surgery being done with the aid of colored laser lights and angel guides. There is also a lot of practical, no-nonsense, down-to-earth advice about being a responsible pet parent. If such advice were only followed, much animal and human suffering could be avoided.

This review is from: Sonya Fitzpatrick, the Pet Psychic: What the Animals Tell Me (Hardcover)
While some people enjoy trying to discredit Sonya Fitzpatrick's TV show and books, I can easily say I know she is for real and really enjoyed this book! I am purchasing it for the second time as a gift to a fellow pet lover and have no doubts about whether the recipient will enjoy and appreciate the book. Sonya's weekly show on The Animal Planet is testimony to the reality of her gift and reading this book is like talking to her directly about some of her most interesting cases. I just wish she could meet and speak with my cats! Don't listen to the naysayers, you will definitely enjoy this book!

5.0 out of 5 stars She is the best animal communicator, February 19, 2003

This review is from: Sonya Fitzpatrick, the Pet Psychic: What the Animals Tell Me (Hardcover)
She is the best animal communicator, because she loves the animals and they know it, and love her back. Wonderful warm and witty, the love in her soul shines through. Reminded me of Boomerang - A Miracle Trilogy, the tale of a remarkable Boston Terrier, who helped co-author the book, and channeled from the other side. Amazing true story, of how through love, all things are possible. Both books are a must read for animal lovers.

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful, Intriguing, Enlightening., November 24, 2007
By

It was not until I had spoken to Sonya in person that I had even known about her book, and I could not be happier that I picked it up. Each reader ultimately has to decide for him or herself how they think of Sonya and what they believe, but my own experiences make me a firm believer of her gifts and her abilities. It truly is an amazing thing to witness.

The stories in this book in which Sonya recounts her childhood and her early life are both intriguing and delightful. I found myself laughing aloud at some parts, and fighting back tears at others. She recounts several instances of communicating with and healing animals that really give great insight into who she is and exactly what she does.

There is a special section devoted to pet companions who have passed on, how to cope with the event and where they go, how according to Sonya, they never truly leave us. Having just recently lost my dog of 13 years, my childhood best friend, this section brought about several moments of bittersweet tears. Though it can be an emotional passage to read through, it has made me feel phenomenally better having read it.

If you are looking for a guide to communicating with your animal, this is not a book of detailed instruction for doing so. Sonya does give brief introduction and instruction to basic communication, and explains that the ability to communicate with animals lies within each of us, but that is not what the core of this book is about.

Overall, I give this book 5 stars, and recommend it wholeheartedly to anyone who has ever had a special furry friend in their lives.

5.0 out of 5 stars similar titles - same book, November 1, 2003

This review is from: Sonya Fitzpatrick, the Pet Psychic: What the Animals Tell Me (Hardcover)
I enjoyed the book very much. It shows you how to get under the skin of the animal and understand it, even if you are not able to "talk" eith them.
I just want to warn all Fitzpatrick readers be carful with buying. In my eager wish to buy everything from her, I bought two of the same books: one is paperback What the animals tell me, the other hardcover The Pet Psychic, What the animals tell me. I thought this was a different book, but it wasn't.

This review is from: Sonya Fitzpatrick, the Pet Psychic: What the Animals Tell Me (Hardcover)
Being an animal lover, this is the most heartwarming book I have ever read. Her phychic insight and healing ability that is demonstrated in the book is amazing. I wanted the book to be longer. I hope Sonya writes a sequel. This book would also be a comfort to those grieving for a pet that has passed away. I totally recommend it!

A note about "What the Animals Tell Me" by Sonya Fitzpatrick. Whether or not you believe her stories, this book is very entertaining and includes sage advice for keeping pets of any kind. Especially cats and dogs. I wish every current and potential pet owner would read this book and give Sonya's wise advice the consideration it deserves.

5.0 out of 5 stars Set aside your skepticism and you may just learn something, November 28, 2008
Even if you don't believe in psychic communication, it's undeniable that if you value your pet, you do feel a strong connection with him or her. Sonya shares how she communicates psychically with animals and offers advice on how you can do the same. She also shares stories about animals she's talked to and how it changed their lives and the lives of their owners. Whether or not you believe it, is irrelevant. The stories are heartwarming, compelling and engaging.

While you might not be having detailed conversations with Kitty or Fido, it's a good thing to be more aware and sensitive to what your pet may be communicating. Even if you're only watching body language, the key is that you are paying attention to your pet. You'll learn that they really do express themselves, their eyes do communicate emotions and sometimes you might just get a feeling that Fido or Kitty needs something from you such as a walk or litter box change.

Learning to be more conscious of our pets' needs and emotions, can also teach us how to better understand humans. There are hundreds of books on how to "read people". It's unfortunate that simply because Sonya's book has the word, "psychic" on the cover, there are some readers who ridicule it.
