A Money Back Guarantee Wouldn't Cost Anyone A Dime,
By Joseph Brotherton (North Carolina) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Sonya Isaacs (Audio CD)
Lyric Street Records, Amazon.com, or Fred's Record Shop could offer a money back guarantee on this record and put the anticipated amount of returns in an escrow account and have change left from a nickel after making the first and only deposit. If the artist were Shania, Faith, The Chicks, or anyone with an established "name," this record would sell in the millions and the songs would be all over the radio. Give a listen to any of these songs, but particularly "Let's Not Lose Each Other Anymore," "How Can I Forget," "Just Go," and "Healing Hands" and you'll buy the record and gladly pay the price of the record, or more, for next-day delivery. This girl has a voice. This girl can write. This girl can perform. And it doesn't hurt that she's beautiful in the same kind of way as Faith Hill, Sara Evans, or any one of a number of movie-star types. Notwithstanding the good looks, a blind man would appreciate this record. Buy it. Buy it. Buy it. Then buy a second copy in case you lose the first.

Incredible.,
By Angelina (California, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Sonya Isaacs (Audio CD)
I bought Sonya's CD based on the fact that I truly enjoy Vince Gill's music, and I'd read somewhere that he sings with her on this CD, and that he'd even produced some of the songs on it. Well, I must say I wasn't disappointed in my purchase ONE BIT. Sonya's voice is pure and clear and very unique. Her songwriting is great, too. I am not a huge fan of Shania or of Martina or Faith, and had about given up on the young women of country until I heard Sonya. Her voice stands out like a bright white light on a canvas of black velvet. Smooth, clear, lyrical and tender. If you like soft, sweet, and strong, here's a girl for you.

The Voice Of An Angel,
By "ebohlen" (Knoxville, Tennessee USA) - See all my reviews

Anyone who knows of Ms. Isaacs from her wonderful work with her family's group, The Isaacs, has already witnessed her talent - both as a singer and a musician. But now, on her own, she has been given a chance to shine like never before. Her voice is heavenly! Warm and rich. Crisp and clean. Fresh and full of emotion. The production is superb thanks to Vince Gill and others. She even writes and plays, too! Whether you like traditional country or the new stuff, you will not be disappointed with this CD. It's simply wonderful! Nashville has a new country music angel and her name is: Sonya Isaacs!

I really like her voice. She doesn't sound like everyone else and that is a definite plus for her. It's the kind of voice that brings tears to your eyes and makes your heart swell up with joy. I have went out and purchased all of her past works since I have heard this. She has the prettiest voice in the whole business.

A Pure Gem From Sonya!,
By CountryGal "pamela" (Ireland) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Sonya Isaacs (Audio CD)
Sonya decided to temporarily branch out on her own from her family band The Isaac's to do her own country album. It was a great idea as this is a fine country album.Produced mostly by Vince Gill and featuring big guests it was always gonna be something special.
First off she has some great uptempos like I've Forgotten How You Feel(which has a little Patty Loveless sound to it),How Can I Forget and Give Me Tonight. But the real standouts are her ballads as that's where her beautiful voice really gets to shine, such as the gorgeous Let's Not Lose Each Other Anymore(which Vince wrote and provides harmonies),Just Go(which features Joe Diffie on harmonies),On My Way To You(which features Steve Wariner on harmonies)and Healing Hands(which features Dolly Parton on harmonies). All beautiful songs and all 3 where written by Sonya. As well as a fantastic voice, she's also a great songwriter too! She ends the cd with a beautiful version of the gospel song The Battlefield-she gives this a nice Irishy sound with the accordion and penny whistle. You will definitely not be disappointed with this gem from a fantastic country singer....

Was Blown Away!,
By Gennie Bailey (Savannah, Georgia United States) - See all my reviews

With a little help from the ultratalented Vince Gill, Sonya Issacs is on her way to becoming a big hit. She's got a voice like an angel (kinda reminds you of Sara Evans) and the songwriting talents to match it. On her debut album "Sonya Issacs", she enlists the help of such country talents as Gill,Joe Diffie, Jason Sellers, and Steve Wariner who provide background vocals as well as some instrumental help. With these guys standing behind you, you can't go wrong. Since I enjoyed all of the tracks on the album, I'll list a few of my personal favorites. They are: "I've Forgotten How You Feel": this is the debut single from Sonya and I have to say that I almost fell out of my chair when I first heard it. What a great song! Sonya's vocals and the lyrics blend together perfectly. It's an upbeat song about trying to rekindle love's flame. "Let's Not Lose Each Other Anymore": Vince Gill co-wrote, sang back-up and played guitar this song. It's a really beautiful song about not taking love for granted. This song is the PERFECT example of how influential Vince is in the country music world. It's also shows that you just can't go wrong with having him provide vocals. The man can create a masterpiece with his voice. "Healing Hands": All I can say is "Wow!". Dolly Parton and Vince Gill provide background vocals on this song. It's about having someone to come home to at the end of day who'll lick your wounds and chase away your pains. "The Battlefield": This is the last track on the album and it's a doozy. I had chills up and down me about 5 seconds into it. It's an inspirational song about facing life's problems by laying them in God's hands. Yet again, Gill helped arrange the song and added his vocals. It's a very chilling and powerful song. The penny whistle only adds to it's appeal. This song needs to be released! It has hit all over it. If you're looking for a refreshing country debut, "Sonya Issacs" is the one for you. Sonya's got tons of talent and if she's not a hit, then there's something seriously wrong with country radio. Forget all these country/pop gals who seem to be popping up every two seconds and lay your bets on a real talent like Sonya Issacs. She's a keeper! Gennie Bailey-Rogers

A very warm welcome for Sonya,
By
This review is from: Sonya Isaacs (Audio CD)
I first heard Sonya Isaacs sing in a video on CMT of the song "How Can I Forget." I was so drawn to that song, I bought the CD even after only listening to one song, just one time! I am one of Patty Loveless' greatest fans, and Sonya reminds me very much of Patty. That should be taken as an incredible compliment, because Patty Loveless is one of the best women country singers of all time! Sonya has the sound of Patty Loveless, yet sings with her own unique qualities. I had never heard of her before this album, and did not know that she sang in a gospel group with her family, but I am sure she did well with them. I can give her nothing but a warm welcome to country music, her voice is a gift to a music genre that is becoming a lot like most other genres - manufactured, pop sound. Her beautiful voice on "How Can I Forget" will touch your heart, especially if you have ever had an ex you can't forget. She brings such emotion to her songs, you feel as though you have lived every situation her songs address, such as "Just Go", or "Barefoot in the Grass", or even "Let's Not Lose Eachother Anymore", in which she sings with Vince Gill. This truly must be a great artist if she has Vince singing with her and producing some of her songs. She also has a special guest appearance by the lovely Dolly Parton. "Who Knew" is a special song that touched me, telling the story of love found in an unexpected person! For those of you who do not like country, you would like this! It is not mainstream, and country radio has not even played her music yet! Sonya is a different, better sound than most country, and she is welcomed warmly to the scene. For those of you who like country, or bluegrass, or even gospel, you will especially like this album. The sound is one of bluegrass, gospel, country, and blues all mixed together. Guess what!? She even plays the mandolin, an especially great talent for today, where singers don't usually play instruments. This truly shows Sonya's all-around, all-encompassing talent! Buy this CD, and you will not be disappointed!!

A Different Side Of Sonya Isaacs,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Sonya Isaacs (Audio CD)
Sonya Isaacs of The Isaacs has long been regarded as having one of the purest voices in Gospel Bluegrass. This self-titled solo release is her foray into mainstream Country Music. It shows a different side of Isaacs and is a nice companion to her more traditional 2006 solo release Isaacs Bluegrass: Sonya. Long out-of-print, it was really nice to be able to find this CD on Amazon. Be sure to check out The Isaacs' latest album Why Can't We featuring "I'm Gonna Love You Through It", a song Isaacs co-wrote and is currently the latest single for Martina McBride.
