1.0 out of 5 stars KDL40wl135, July 16, 2011
This review is from: Sony's Bravia KDL-40WL135 W series Full HD 1080p HDTV (Electronics)
I bought a sony television from Costco. After about a year the screen developed a line about 3 inches from the top. We contacted Sony and they assured us that it was probably a cable issue and they gave us a fix for it. We tried the method and it made a little differnece but the line was still there. Within the next few months more lines started forming. We finally took the television to an authorized repair shop and they said the screen was defective and could not be replaced. They told us to call Sony because they had seen so many televisions with the same problem and there might be a recall. Sony offered us a model that does not have a recognized number for $150 off the price of a television with a similar number. By accepting the offer we would have to give up any rights. At this point, I'm not sure I want a Sony product. I have 2 panosonic televisions that have never had a problem and they were a better value. At this point we are still working with their customer service department but it doesn't look like they are going to stand behind their product.

1.0 out of 5 stars failure sony, very disappointing, January 31, 2011

I have owned this TV for just shy of two years and it is already starting to die. With hundreds of reports on the net Sony has yet to issue a recall for this problem. The screen starts to go out and you get a ghosting and dark effect for the first half an hour while it is on I would not recommend this TV to any one.
